OH tiger surely your kidding. And I wouldn't say they threw in the towel. Just forced to do things they weren't comfortable doing. That pick 6 was huge but a bad punting game hurt also. Cal played on a short field the whole game.

Seems there should be more than a 1 or 2 people making the ruling...

The problem wasn't as much the official as it was the ruling body not overturning it. But also from experience, refs can handle situations how they choose. The official could've went to coach and said take the kid out for a few plays and tell him to get it under control.

So since others have posted that officials aren’t quick to eject then that is fact but several have posted players in these cases shouldn’t have been ejected is just uninformed opinions. Officials are human and make mistakes at all levels but to say kids and coaches need to consider all this while making a play on the field is absurd.

I would say if you are playing or have played a team several times and they beat you even when the teams were clearly even that you would be psyched possibly. But if your parents or grandparents were the ones playing it’s probably not going to effect you.

That’s why l would like to know the schools involved that have been successful and those that have not. I’m no conspiracy theorist but I have seen certain areas get benefit of the doubt and others not.....

Can someone please start another thread about best players? I would but have no idea how to do so.

It would be interesting to know the number that has been overturned and which schools were involved.

I personally watched the video of Mayfield/OC and it was a horrible call that ended a seniors career and played a big roll in that team losing the next game. The hit wasn’t with to the head and it was a block in which the player wasn’t defenseless but saw it coming. I’ve seen a lot more vicious hits on defenseless players

There’s more than two outstanding players in 2A. That’s why I asked on what basis are we comparing. Not always the biggest fastest kid is the best football player for a high school team.

Some of you are missing the point. He is talking about unwarranted ejections. If you read the rule for targeting I don’t believe it is eject able in high school. But that’s what was applied. And I think that was mentioned to officials before this season. VOR is also saying there should be an ability to appeal quickly (which I agree) and get a fair response. Not just side with officials to save face. I don’t think any official wants to eject a player either but they are part time officials doing their best and I’m sure if they made a mistake they would want the player reinstated.... I also believe reinstatement could depend on where a player goes to school. JMO!!

How does one determine the best player? Just curious...40 time? Size? Number of stars set by recruiting gurus? I've heard several different opinions (Wright, VanCleave) but no reasoning.

I too think he would've scored but they went on to score that drive so it didn't cost them any points. But mayfield fumble and dropped one at the end that did cost them points. Just sayin....
