  1. Both of them are good guards and will see the floor this season. Caleb was hampered by an early knee injury last season that seems to be healed now since he's playing DB on the football team. Paul is a dead-eye shooter that that can make a difference.
  2. I agree that these games will be useful for both teams playing. Definitely nice to see LaSalle and Roger Bacon making the trip over. They had good runs last year. It will be a fun day!
  3. Maybe not in your eyes! These senior boys play as hard as any and will do what they can to get their team to the post season. Hall was Division 2 player of the year and Pangallo was Division 2 defensive player of the year last season. Hall and Luken also were members of the "All A" all tournament team. All pretty impressive for juniors!
  4. NCC may well be in the #4 spot but here's my thoughts. Yes Brennan Hall will have a good year but it's going to be up to the older guys on this senior heavy team to lead them if they want to see success. We all know about the sophomore exodus of last season which really only leaves 2 juniors this season. Yes, there will be some current sophomores that will get a lot of playing time, but this season will rest on the shoulders of the seniors. NCC will potentially start 5 seniors.. Hall, Pangallo, McDaniel, Iles, and Luken. With Posey and Gearding off the bench. While overall team height may be down, team play and hustle will be at the forefront. While they did lose a scorer in Moeves to graduation, they will find ways to make up for his loss.
  5. My son, who is now a senior in HS, played in and won 3 Tiger Bowls with the Red Devils. I believe 2 of those were at Bellevue Vets while the other was at Bellevue high school field. Being a coach on the other side of the field I only was able to observe some of the out of control parents and fans as they went at each other. Blame the alcohol that was sold there or not, but when Newport 's finest have to be called, it's out of control.
  6. From the schedule I've seen for NCC, they don't play at Rowan County.
  7. I know that I have a dog in the fight, but here's my take on NCC next year. They will definitely be senior and guard heavy. The Holy Trinity boys of Hall, Pangallo, and McDaniel will run the show. With Luken being the only experienced big at the 5. The big question is who will step up to fill in at the 4 position. Will it be Iles, who was set back with a shoulder injury, or one of of the few juniors-to-be that stuck around. They will definitely need the freshman from this year to develop and improve over the summer. Also, I'm sure coach Kenny will learn from his freshman season as head coach and have the boys ready for next season.
  8. Thanks for the "welcomes". I hope to put a face with some of the familiar names on here
  9. Hello All. I've been wanting to join for a while now, but finally did. I'm a 1990 Elder High School grad and currently have a son that is a junior on the Newport Central Catholic basketball team (#34). I look forward to maybe adding some insight to some games and getting involved in some discussions. Thanks for the welcome!! Go BREDS!
