I didn’t realize that was the score at halftime. LOL. Strong teams make strong performances. I agree, injury free, competitive game, with some good sportmanship. Can’t ask for much more than that.

They’ve proven to be a second half team numerous times (West Carter, Fleming Co, Greenup Co), so if they can keep close to Russell till halftime, they’ll have a chance. The problem with that philosophy is, Russell isn’t a team you can fall behind to, and play catch up with. If they get moment, The Raiders will suffer their first running clock of the season. One of the best games of the season is going to be Ashland vs Russell. The game has already been hyped pretty well. There’s even a clever t-shirt campaign under way on social media. All eyes will be focused on that game next week. And if Ashland is looking past East Carter, this week, that could play into favor of the Raiders. It will be an uphill battle for a much improved East Carter team. But, a distracted Tomcats team, as well as home field advantage, and homecoming night for the Raiders, could be the recipe for an upset in the making. Call me the eternal optimist. We’re all about to find out in a couple hours.

Tolsia scored first with a scoop and score when East fumbled the ball away on their opening drive. This would prove to be the Rebels only points of the game tho. The Raiders took control from there, both offensively and defensively.

I got the reference. I like it. But, that wasn’t the one and only comment being made. And to be fair, they weren’t all coming from you. Either way, games over. On to Fleming Co for me and you’re off to Boyd Co. We’ll pick this up again next season. I think you’re right, this has been enough internet for me today.

That’s exactly right... Crickets. There were plenty of posts and comments all week long leading up to the game. “Comets by 90!” Real good Keyboard Warrior. All this trash talking and you let a 2 word comment like “crickets chirping,” really get under your skin. LOL. Grow up snowflake. As for the game, you’re right. Cline was the best player on the field. 5 touchdowns! East knew he was coming and still couldn’t stop him. The kid is special and I look forward to seeing where life takes him. East responded with a well balanced offensive scheme that had 5 different players finding the end zone. They didn’t rely on 1 player alone to do all the work. The game was close throughout. East fell behind early, trailing 14-0 in the 1st. And West was down 39-20 to start the 4th quarter. Both teams fought their way back into the game. Never quit. Never surrendered. Lots of heart in both teams.

The overall record for East/ West football is 30-19.

I’m glad you responded. I was starting to think this thread was broken or something. There was a lot of commenting about the game all week long, but now nothing. Odd. And yes, it was a Game for the Ages. A great contest between 2 good teams. Carter County Football at its finest. Sorry if you couldn’t make it there.

Friday the 13th, Full Moon, and East vs West. What more could you ask for. To us, this is the Game of the Week. To them Carter Co Boys, this is the Game of the Year. These 2 teams are evenly matched in every category. Including Speed! One of the biggest competitions in the field will be West’s OLine vs East’s DLine. This will be a good game. East 28, West 21.
