KY Hoop Dirt

Greenwood went to state last in around 2008 or somewhere in that area. Nobody outside the 14th district has won the region since 2001 when Russellville did.

If former U.K. Football player Leroy Wilson was not kicked off team at tournament time for Warren Central in 2003 they would have won state and not Mason county.

There is a lot of other high profile players in the event. Jordan Brown of Prolific Prep is consenus top 15-20 in the 2018 class. Kyree Walker of Hillcrest is already committed to Arizona state is a top 3-5 player in the 2020 class. St. benedicts features top 20 players in their classes. Precious Achiwua (2019) and Noah Farrakhan (2020).

Some of them don't go to DeSales they all go to DeSales. To qualify for the Dicks Sporting Goods Nationals at the end of the year, all the kids have to go to the same school, that is why some of your teams like Prolific Prep last year wasn't allowed to qualify, all their kids went to different schools. This season, Prolific is different all go to the same school. Just cause the kids to go DeSales, yes it is essentially an AAU team but this is during the school season. No different than any kid in Bryan Station choosing not to play for the school team but rather goes and plays in the High School league at the KBA during the week, they are still students of DeSales. They aren't able to play for DeSales because of the KHSAA rules and how they are housed and being there. They come to DeSales for the schooling but their basketball team is a club team on the side, or the word prep school however you want to word it. There are very few prep schools going right now, just a lot of them have this set up but call them selves prep schools when in reality they are just a traveling basketball team with funding behind them. Oak Hill and some of your power house schools aren't like this but there are so many "prep" school teams now it is just another form of AAU.

no, them kids are getting free housing etc from Aspire, that would be free housing from someone to play for Desales.

The reason Aspire could scrimmage desales though is because they are all students of DeSales High School. They just choose to not play for Desales and play for Aspire but end of the day they are all students of Desales High School. Aspire is just the name of the club team, has nothing to do with their schooling on a daily basis.

I believe part of the set up was they were to scrimmage with aspire once a week. Not sure how that goes against KHSAA, I would assume it doesn’t since they are students or DeSales High School. It would be like picking kids out of PE class at North Bullitt and then scrimmage the North Bullitt varsity team.

I have heard from multiple people that Diablo Stewart transferred to Scott County.

All a is unlike sweet 16 Seeet 16 you lose khsaa don't pay for hotels rest of week, the all a does for the teams

Six hotels to host 32 teams and 32 sets of fans?

The Fieldhouse as a venue could hold it and would be a great venue to host. However, not near enough hotel rooms in Maysville and to far from a major highway without easy access to Maysville. All A History played at Memorial which is in Lexington, McBrayer which is right off 75 and Frankfort Civic which is off 64.

He is going to Desales and Aspire right?

On twitter today he is reclassing back to 2019 class, told you that is what I had heard Hopkinsville PG Jalen Johnson was dynamite both days at camp. Coachable, talented guard that is a sleeper prospect. Will reclass to 2019. This was on the @allaroundgame twitter

He has committed to Notre Dame. Monday narrowed his list to six but committed last night. Only going to be a junior be interesting to see if he holds his commitment if Kelly is let go at seasons end like many speculate. Lacey father played at Louisville while his South warren teammate CJ Hayes is a freshman at Michigan State. Both louisville and Michigan State were in his final six South Warren's Jacob Lacey commits to Notre Dame | Prep Sports | bgdailynews.com

Word is now he isn't going to go, he is going to finish at Hoptown and go there or elsewhere next year as a post grad. Aspire will not have a post grad team this season but will beginning in 2018-2019 (possibly two post grad teams.)

Can't play football or basketball for Desales, being housed in. Boarding school or something funded by the Aspire usually that situation they get a mansion and throw them all in there together. Wouldn't be a legit move and parents not there. I still say he reclassed back and can maybe I am wrong.

The nations #1 player in 2019 class, Charles Bassey is going to Aspire Academy as well is the word.

He will be going back to the 2019 class as well from what I have heard.

When they are referring to Johnson I think they are referring to David Johnson at Trinity and his running mate Jay Scrubb being possibly ineligible. Not Jalen Johnson and Stephen Cager being ineligible.

Jay Scrubb - Trinity, he was the 7th region player of the year as a junior last season according to the coaches not the KABC.

Severe has moved on to Coastal Carolina

Not saying he hasn't enrolled but if he did it was days ago cause he is currently playing in the Peach Jam this week

If that is where he is at that would be his former coach, he plays for boo Williams now, same guy who coached allen iverson

Word around Bowling Green is he has enrolled at another KHSAA school & is no longer enrolled at BG.

Again this is an inaccurate statement because he played varsity as a 7th grader in tennessee but wasn't allowed to play in the 8th grade?
