  1. Here's what KHSAA Bylaw 16 says: Recruiting is defined as an act, on behalf of, or for the benefit of, a school, including impermissible contact, which attempts to influence a student to transfer to a member school for the purpose of participating in athletics. An athletic coach or any other member of the school staff or team member (including parents and boosters) shall not influence a student even if the student, his or her parents or any intermediary from another school makes the initial contact. In this situation, a coach or staff member (paid or unpaid) should immediately refer the person(s) to the school principal http://khsaa.org/handbook/bylaws/20152016/bylaw16.pdf So you are right @Clyde and @BirdBrain
  2. I'd love to a series played in baseball as long as it doesn't turn into the playoffs from the movie "Baseketball"
  3. I'm sorry but is that not the very definition of recruiting?
  4. He is afraid of getting hurt probably. But if he cared about basketball he would play, Camryn Snapp did both, because he cared about both. Basically a waste of all those hours put in and hate to see him not play. But I understand why.
  5. Garrison is not moving now. He is suspended for summer ball and the first 3 games of the season for from what I heard was cussing out a teacher. Anyone to confirm?
  6. Looks like @Sportsaholic Mamaw is giving the dislike button a workout today. For all those complain that this will end the rivalry fail to realize this is the most intense it's been in my lifetime The rivalry will go on, because they can't avoid match ups in All A and district
  7. @Sportsaholic Mamaw you say do what's best for the kids, but the kids don't care if they play Augusta. The only one who cares if Augusta/Bracken play is Augusta. I've talked to alumni and kids of BC. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT PLAYING AUGUSTA
  8. I guess not. Must have always assumed they were playing each other since they've played 82 years in a row.
  9. I don't know how you would do it, but I would love to see a three game series. Switch between sites to make it more interesting..
  10. Here's my proposition IF/AFTER all districts seed. I don't know if this would work in districts, but in region I would like to see it happen. Right now the KHSAA lets you play 36 games, my idea would be to shorter the season to 30. Then in region, you play a 3 game series, three days in a row. The system is flawed to where the best team doesn't win, but the team with the best pitcher wins. Maybe it could work in district Extend a week of the postseason and shorten the regular season by a week. Again, save the criticism for this is just a raw idea. But I think we can all agree it favors the team with the best pitcher, not the best overall team. The Coach at Tates Creek also said the same thing.
  11. Does anyone know what this guy is talking about?
  12. Here's my predicted starting line-up: Austin Crawford Griffin Appleman Cooper Engnes Brady Jones Travis Tucker They are guard heavy, but tall guards. Crawford and Engnes at 6'3, Jones at 6'2, Tucker at 6'4. *going off estimates
  13. Camden Johnson (Bracken County) is transferring to Augusta.
  14. Will he be taking fake classes like UNC's players do?
  15. Sorry but I think they can do something. They can force a pitch county on every school in Kentucky, so why can't the force seeding?
  16. This issue is with all sports. I decided to put it under Boys Basketball because I thought it would retain the most viewership. And let's be honest nobody in Augusta (including you and adminstation) never cared for Augusta baseball before this. It's always been about boys basketball.
  17. Freshman and JV is not about winning, it is about development of players for the varsity level. He does have a high ceiling. He has been playing AAU also. Bracken County is in need of a post presence and big man this year, he can fill that spot. At 6'3 and son of a Polar Bear great, I hope to see nothing but good things from him.
  18. I don't think playing Tucker varsity games that are close over 4 seniors, and loaded junior class would make much sense don't you? He's not there just yet. He'll get his time this year, as a SOPHOMORE!
  19. No. Nor did there seem to be an outrage over the umps calling Campbell players out when they were safe by 5 steps. Or the strike zone being wider than Robin Kelsh's ego
  20. Augusta is a combined 0-40 on runs their last two games.
  21. Looking to see if how much Travis Tucker (son of a great Polar Bear basketball player Mark Tucker from the late 90's) has improved. Definetly has a high ceiling.
  22. How were they not screwed? Your argument you have to be the best to beat the best is completely invalid and is ignorant.
