  1. Impressive JV team of sophomores...lots and lots of tall, thin, talented basketball players on that Fort squad...fun to watch. And Salter's 2 handed rebound dunk at the end of OT Frosh game was very exciting in great game...thought he broke the rim/backboard on his attempted stick back - HHS has quite a bit of talent working thru hoops - great to see!
  2. Great home win. Thank you Lawnboy! Congrats Coach Listerman and boys. Good luck ranking teams 4-10 in the 9th Walter.
  3. 17 for 25 from three ? Good lord, tip your cap and move on...was Draud and Curry shooting? Lol. Congrats to those great shooters; really must enjoy pullin the trigger on that home court.
  4. Seth is an impressive young man and shares time to be a wonderful (academic) influence on a few of his good friends at UC! (Thank you Seth!)
  5. Last time a major conference, D1 college team scored 94 points at home and lost?
  6. Apologize for they typos in that post, ugh - there - i have my readers on now.
  7. This team is loaded and fun to watch with nba caliber at the 3 and 4 in underclassman Evans, Washington & Clark. They lack a consistent, high level point-guard. This Iowa State game was one of Troy C's worst performance - chucking up brick after brick after airball - and turning the ball over twice in back to back OT possessions - just awful and no movement of the ball..he has big clumby feet - hard to watch at times. Lack of PG play, spells another 2nd round tourney exit - we all know it takes a dynamic, quick scoring point-guard to win this tourney. Mic will stick with his seniors - to loyal there despite the little lefty being a much more fluid PG than Troy. Any hoot great win and as usual a great touch defensive team. Evans & Cumberland are natural born scorers - hope they get touches and attempts each & every possession with UC's glass cleaners taking care of the rest this season. Should be fun to watch moving forward...
  8. Interested to hear game shooting percentage for these young teams in this young season, especially given Lawnboy's courtside comments.
  9. thanks Lawnboy fir updates....luv ya longtime.
  10. FYI - Senior final game/superbowl is this Saturday night at 6pm @Newport stadium. (CC Red Devils vs. Fort Blue)
  11. Fort Thomas is self contained as you describe - just 2nd grade thru 7th. This is the first year the league/board decided to separate the 8th grade boys (from 7th) and field two teams in the NKY League. Not sure exactly why but it was time for a tweak for sure with the participant numbers down a bit and just right time for a tweak/more competition playing across NKY.
  12. Fort Thomas Blue won 6 -0, scoring in last minute of game. HARD fought defensive battle and a great game to watch. Very well played...Congrats to both teams and coaching staffs.
  13. i think Newport stadium also hosts a couple games Sunday - a few senior games will be played in the afternoon.
  14. Fort blue beat Fort white 27 to 0. Nice these 8th graders get after one another from 41075
  15. Win lose or draw - I love the intimacy and draft beer of Nippert over any stadium i've been to for college football. Hell any football for that matter. I love it. Been a season ticket holder for all the great coaches and athletes that have been thru here in last decade and my family and I have loved every freakin minute of it. We are ALL in on the Nati and last night's student sections was OUTSTANDING. Kudos to those kids and that campus and all new buildings/apartments facilities up there - again second to none. Wow. Wherever they play - MAC, Big East, AAC, Big 12 - count us IN.
  16. Yes was at the HHS blue game tonight. Splitting the Fort Thomas 8th graders evenly between 2 teams of about 13-14 players (now w/injuries) is starting to surface in a competitive league...not complaining at all - love the innovative thinking But 13 players and missing a linebacker and running back or athlete...on a split team and you start to experience significant drop off. Especially when playing competitive, quick great athletes in a competitive league. I won't get into the hitting and tackling aspect of football (missing on these FT teams)...save that for another day in this concussion era. This is a very challenging football era (to say the least) to teach, ask for and expect aggression and flying thru a ball carrier.
  17. How are you suppose to tackle a receiver runnin full speed ?? A shoulder to shoulder is a penalty ? This league makes no sense and difficult to watch games in which officials are ALWAYS impacting every facet of game ...
  18. Kudos to S Kenton. Much bigger better team today in that mud field
  19. Game this morning 10am at Taylor Mill Mills Park. The starting linebacker and fullback for Blue is 7th grader Schuett.
  20. They won't beat Cov. Cath? Haven't they beat Cov Cath for 30 years? And Cov Cath is private school with 20 zip codes on their bench vs. the Fort 41075? I would go with the Fort. And Houston - if they lose this year..uhh - the calvary is a coming...
  21. i'm sure it will be a great game.... I'm old - so i just care the athletes are getting better and quicker....and I'm seeing that with alot of the athletes - which is awesome and thank you to the coaches for keeping them running and very, very busy RUNNING (not listening - they get enough of that during the day)
