  1. Ryle opens up a quick 11 - 0 lead, and by half time Raiders led 27 - 13. The 3rd qtr saw Ryle extend their lead to 20 before NCC got hot, narrowing the gap to 10 by end of 3rd. Davenport and company kept clawing their way back throughout the 4th, but Ryle held on for the win. Carly Lange led Ryle with 18, Mallory Schwartz with 17.
  2. It was never there, but good luck ! BTW, nice win for the Birds over Walton last night? Post a thread, share some details?
  3. Now, RCC, I agree completely with what you say here in regards to the young Ryle player, and about using caution when tagging and predicting D1 futures at a very young level. However, in no way has "some" or anyone predicted 5 D1 prospects at Ryle. Not even a couple of years ago. Absolutely not. First, no one, including Ryle fans has ever thought that, let alone said it. Second, there are barely any posts here by Ryle fans, nor has there been traditionally. I am relatively certain, that you and perhaps other fans of other schools say more about Ryle - than Ryle fans. There has never been a Ryle version of UK #1 posting about girls basketball, thank goodness! Appreciate your support of Ryle this season, and really respect your sense of fairness typically, but saying that is just nonsense and unneccessary. "Some" may say today that 5 or 6 of the players on the team could play in college at some level if they opt to, yes! 5 at D1 ? Nope. Was never thought, certainly not discussed.
  4. Lady Raiders win this district rivalry, but Lady Jaguars never stopped fighting. Ryle with balanced scoring in their first home game in over a month, after ten straight road games.
  5. RYLE (70) — Maddie Scherr 9, Kaitlyn Williams 3, Madison Jones 15, Mallory Schwartz 20, Carly Lange 11, Jenna Carouthers 4, Aimee Jump 8. FRANKLIN CO. (63) — Kindall Talley 6, Malaka Frank 15, Dasia Kilbourne 3, Princess Stewart 19, Anna Arrastia 15, Rebecca Cook 3, Savannah Courtney 2.
  6. No, still no time for any of that as the Lady Raiders went on from the Scott Co loss and beat a scrappy Bracken team 58 - 37 just 24 hours later. Today ( 22 hours after Bracken) lady Raiders face #4 ranked Eastern. This will be game 6 for Ryle in under 7 days, including the very good Holy Cross and the athletic Scott Co. Raiders played flat against a then 7-1 Scott Co, despite 21 points from Madison Jones. (again, 3rd game in 44 hrs after HC and CAL). Scott Co looked long and strong , hit 7 of 9 treys, grabbed over 50 RB's. They went on to lose yesterday to E town. The details are already on khsaa.
  7. Lady Raiders had no time to celebrate last night's win over Holy Cross, but traveled this morning to open the Lex Cath/Traditional Bank Tourney with an 11 am tip off against a young but hardworking Christian Academy of Louisville who was coming off 4 straight wins. Raiders had another good defensive effort in this win, and was led by Mallory Schwartz, Ryle's top scorer today. Jones and Jump also reached double figures. Ryle plays Scott County (7-1) tomorrow. The winner plays Monday against the winner of the E-town/Bracken County game. Good luck ladies!
  8. Ryle scoring : Jones 12 Lange 12 M Schwartz 12 Jump 10 Carothers 6 Scherr 4 Brown 3 Conner scoring: Gambrel 13 Boelter 10 Hurst 8 Frey 4 Jordan 2 Duncan 2 Burcham 1 Hite 1
  9. Ryle wins the early district match over Conner. Nice job Lady Raiders!
  10. Yes, a little sarcasm there, Sorry! Seemed ironic to ask about 'huge match' when HHS so highly touted while RHS clearly considered huge under dogs. Amusing seeing big predictions for bulldog success, some hinting state champ yet a lot of bgpers saying 'well Ryle just might beat them.' Interesting... If both teams bring their best game should be a good contest! Good luck ladies!
  11. How do you see this as a 'huge' match up? From what has been said this is a game of bgp's own number 12 team in the state vs unranked 'under achievers'? Holmes was ranked #5 in state in the USA / C-J pre-season poll, Ryle wasn't mentioned at all, so on paper this should be easy win for Holmes, right? Is it a 'huge' match up because the Bulldogs might not double or triple the score on the Raiders? Solid support for Holmes here, plus they play in their house. Sounds like an impossible task for the Raiders, but let the game be played! It's basketball, who knows? Good luck to all!
  12. Allie Neace 26 for Sk, Madison Jones topped Ryle scorers with 17. Hard fought game on both sides !
  13. Very tall order indeed for Ryle to win next 5 in row. Not likely, true, but don't forget last year's Ryle team beat Mason and nearly became the 2nd team to hang a L on Holmes when the Raiders hit a tied-game buzzer-beater that was called off, eventually losing the OT. The brutal schedule does not end with the Holy Cross game, the next morning Ryle travels to Lex Cath for the Republic Bank event which also features E-town, Eeast Carter, SK, Mason, Mercer, Murray and Bowling Green. Lady Raiders should be battle tested before Christmas break. (and they open the new year with Franklin Co!)
  14. Looked solid especially in first half as Ryle rotated ten players and dominated Mercy 47 to 21. In the second half the offense cooled some, also went a bit deeper in the bench. Ryle won that half 19 - 15. The Jv teams split victories .
  15. Ryle get's a chance to try out their new system, new staff for the first time tonight at 7pm against Mercy at the Bullitt East Hooperama. Should be a good test for the Lady Raiders.
  16. Dasia Kilbourne of Franklin County High School has committed to play basketball at Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky. Congrats Dasia!
  17. Aimee Jump of Ryle High School signed her letter of intent today to play basketball at D2 Trevecca Nazarine University in Nashville, Tennessee. Congrats Aimee!
  18. Carly Lange of Ryle High School signed her letter of intent today to play basketball at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. Congrats Carly!
  19. 'State Champion" is an extremely exclusive and lofty title to hold in Kentucky high school basketball - girls or boys! All credit to Holy Cross for beating the team that "couldn't be beat" last year and finishing out the Sweet 16 on top! A lot of that team moved on, including a D1 and D2 player which hurts, but I expect the Lady Indians to come back strong with some talented returning players and a proven coach.
