I listened to the game. Would like to hear details from people that attended. Collegiate played a schedule that was very weak during the season. The record goal scoring against weak teams didn't provide adequate preparation on pressing late and playing with urgency. It seemed they couldn't get it together for a late charge. From the radio call it seemed that Collegiate didn't handle the loss in sporting fashion with the "giving" of balls to CC for throw ins? I would like to hear someone break the game down

I would love to catch this one. I have seen both teams play this year. I would give Collegiate the edge, but CC can certainly hang with them.

from what I have heard there was a residence change. He was ruled ineligible in August and in took 8+ weeks for the appeal?

Yes he did play and was pretty much a non factor. I was unimpressed with him today. Wheeler played very strong for Collegiate.

Trinity looked to be in a flat 4-4-2 with the kids playing back and sandwiching Colliegate forwards, and pretty much shutting them down. Problem is you leave midfielders un challenged at about 35-40 yards out. I believe it was Wheeler who knocked in one from about 30-35 when no one stepped up to challenge. It was an awesome shot. It was from the side, above the 18yard box corner and beat the keeper near post. Trinity scored on a nice shot from about 35-40 yards out and straight on. Collegiate had a thru ball that was chipped by the keeper by Abdi #27. Trinity Keeper didn't have a great game. I believe the first one was "savable". Collegiate may have had 4 shots. Trinity finished with a flurry in the last 15 minute. hit the cross bar once and missed wide on a few more. Collegiate keeper may have come out and snagged 15 crosses from the feet or from throw ins. Fun game to watch with a lot of passion on the field. My respect for Haji is well documented. With that said, he played most of the game but didn't really non factor. Seemed slightly lazy off the ball. Perhaps more of drawing attention from the defense, freeing up others. He flopped a bunch and had a elbow to the face of the trinity right back when play was away from him that didn't get notice by the ref. Trinity defender needed to go out with a goal by Collegiate shortly after. Perhaps it was "red card" worthy. Exciting game. Surely X will beat CAL for the rematch. Collegiate 3-1 over X. They are beatable.

This is a tough one. Winner will be the favorite to go all the way. I haven't check the rankings lately, but I believe they are #1 and #2. 2-1 Trinity, because I am a Trinity homer. if Haji plays , 2-2 and it goes to PKs. his injury is interesting. The coach said he has been cleared and is 100% but is probably done for the year. Which is curious. He is playing at UofL next year, so maybe he just doesn't want to chance an injury. Thats the only thing I can think of.

I am not sure what 1,000 games you have watched and never seen a 50 pound difference. Look at any high school roster that list weight. here is one Saint Patrick High School | Boys Soccer | Team Roster these kids are all the same age, it is a freshman roster. You have weights of 83,90,101,104, 115 and on the other extreme 150, 165,165,180, 198 that team has 5 sets of kids that AVERAGE 73 POUND DIFFERENCE. One boy out weighs another by 115 pounds. I think you may want to think back over that 1,000 games and maybe, just maybe you will find one kid that outweighed another by 50 pounds. If you are watching HS Varsity soccer, there are 50 pound differences every night.

I am not talking about showcases, I am talking about standard club tournaments. huge differences in team ability.

I HATE TCLUB TOURNAMENTS. 1. Travel cost can get pretty high(hotels, meals,gas,etc). But I look at as good one on one time with a child, but it is expensive 2. Format is awful. 4 games can be tough one players. Often the last match is grueling. 3. Competition is questionable. I have gone to tournaments to find we overmatch ever team and the games are useless to both teams. 9-0 10-1 games do nothing for other team. OR getting pushed up an age group to help the host fill out their bracket and on the other side of a physical mismatch. Injuries happen when there are 50 pound weight differences at every position. Waste of team resources and time. I would rather schedule 2 games against teams I know that are a good match.

Looks like Oldham vs North Oldham will probably be the region final. That will be a good one. 2-1 and 1-0(PKS) wins by Oldham County this year. Should be a good one. I have seen Oldham play and I think they could make a run pretty deep. Not sure when they would run into region 7 , but Oldham has a pretty solid team

it will be complete domination on friday. Rocks knocked Ballard soccer out of state tournament last night, 7 scores to zero. I will go with consistency. Trinity 49-0 Only question is the over/under on when the running clock starts

Pretty dominate performance. Ballard has some speed, but trinity's team defense was outstanding. Trinity was much bigger and held possession pretty well. #19 Cameron Smith is a pleasure to watch on the defensive side of the ball. Ballard had a few defensive lapses and were punished for them. When you play good teams you can't make mistakes, especially in the back or you will get punished. 4-0 at half and it was over. To answer an earlier question, Trinity used the entire roster.

I would much prefer that high school soccer operate on the "no re-ntry" per half concept. It emphasizes conditioning, a little more coaching strategy and perhaps a better form of soccer. By that I mean that teams would try to possess the ball and not keep playing long balls for a player to sprint on to. I don not like the idea that a deeper team can just turn it into a track meet.

Good question. I think they can turn it into a track meet and wear out teams that are not as deep. It is warm today and will be even hotter on the turf. It doesn't help a team that isn't deep or well conditioned. If Ballard has not played much on turf, that also will not be in their favor. I am not sure who will be on the 24 player roster today, but I don't see them using less than 20 players today.
