If either HC or KCD blow the other out on Friday, they just run the table. Otherwise, I think Frankfort is very live. Tough, Tough schedule and they have hung with just about everybody. Emminence could face a freight train Friday.

True that. But I think the gents traveling from the Eastern side of Jefferson County to Dixie Highway will be happy to hear that. KCD passing game is nice compliment to it's run first attitude. They don't need a fast track, just dry footballs.

Could go a long way to determining who wins this district. Both teams are decent but blemished during their challenging non-district schedules. If raining during the game Friday Night, I'll take HC. They have a distinct size advantage and are a strong running team. If not raining, I'll take KCD in a mild upset(if you buy into the Litkenhous ratings). Raining HC 23 KCD 13 Not raining KCD 30 HC 23 I'm interested to see Evan Perry HC running back in his senior year with the district on the line. Fun game.

I agree that no team from District 3 looks as if they can hang with Beechwood in district 4. If Robinson from Frankfort is back and at some kinda full speed, then they have the best chance...as crazy as that sounds for a team that it is without a win to date. But VOR and others: would be interested to see how people see district 3 standings after the dust settles over the next several weeks. Key game this Friday HC Louisville and KCD. If it rains big time, think KCD will be challenged as they just don't have the size of HC.

"Holy Cross (Louisville) ... 2-4 Kentucky Country Day ... 3-3 Frankfort ... 0-6 Eminence ... 4-2 Now this is an interesting district. Pre-season, this looked like one of the toughest and most competitive districts in 1A. It may still turn out that way. It really is a toss up between Holy Cross and Country Day. That game is too close to call. The main wild card in this district is Frankfort. Opponents better not let the 0-6 record give them a false sense of security. Frankfort has played the toughest schedule in 1A. If they get D1 talent Anthony Robinson back, Frankfort can spring a huge surprise in this district. Eminence is another team with a nice record built on a weak schedule. I don't see them as a threat in the district." What is the status of Anthony Robinson? Agree that Frankfort is nowhere near a typical 0-6 "pushover team" with or without AR. Too much tradition and pride in that program. HC and KCD square off on the 9th after the bye week....game of the year for KCD in many respects.

KCD and Holy Cross get to square off next week and settle part of the argument. It's a bigger game for KCD than HC IMHO. KCD played Adair Co tough for a half(were up 19-12 with a minute left in the 1st half when a kickoff coverage meltdown changed the entire momentum of the game) then folded up the tent in the second half. This is a "get the ship righted" kind of test for them especially as HC has had their number as of late. KCD benefits from a Trinity sophmore transfer Jordan West who was at practice this week and figures to be another cog in the Sophmore class that dominates this squad. This year's tussle is at HC, but KCD played it's best complete game on the road, taking it to Bethlehem in Bardstown.

Watched LCA earlier this year and was very impressed, well coached, sharp execution, great offensive scheme that throws a lot at you with a poised Sophmore QB, RB combo of Miller and Wheatley...Senior TE Kyle Paske is a beast and a matchup nightmare for most DBs. That said.....whaaaaaa haaaapun!!! Last week's loss to Walton Verona was mind boggling. I had LCA going deep in the 2A playoffs. If that team shows up, it'll be tough for Fairview

Look at it from these three factors: 1)Whom have they played, how did they fare, and how strong does that opponent look in other games played 2)Head to head match ups 3)Overall record....when you factor in those three items, Ludlow and KCD emerge with Ludlow edging out KCD with a better overall record. Project ahead to this coming Friday with Ludlow hosting Williamsburg and KCD at home to undefeated 3A foe Adair Co. If both Ludlow and KCD win, you'd have to consider a swap at #10 .

What has hurt KCD, and understandably so, is the bad night they put in against Washington Co. several weeks ago. Total head scratcher. They rebounded nicely the next two weeks.

Once again, as it was with Bethlehem last week, this game hinges on KCDs blossoming defense (8 Sophmores start)and its' ability to contain Adair QB Chance Melton. Melton has a really nifty ability to scramble and find big gainers on the ground. He's pretty quick to tuck and go on passing downs, and very effective. Early on in the Bethlehem game, Eagle QB Matthew Hagen was effective against the Bearcat D. Could be a repeat on Friday in Louisville. If you want to beat KCD, score more than they do...because thus far, no one has stopped their offense consistently.

KCD played a complete game...exposed Bethlehem's lack of big time team speed. Tons of weapons displayed with Country Day on offense....Defense contained impressive Bethlehem QB Matthew Hagan. Statement game for KCD over undefeated Eagles? Probably not as Bethlehem early schedule suspect. If Bearcats pull one out against Adair Co next weekend, THAT would be a statement.

Hagan was very tough tonight, but KCD really had its act together on defense....and they have a lot of weapons on offense. I think also, team speed on KCDs part played a sizable part of their big win over Bethlehem. They have a huge mountain to climb next week in Adair Co.

If Robinson makes it back, he's in my top 11 as well. Suddenly puts a tough year for Frankfort in a whole new light.

I've not seen enough 1A teams to fill out a full 11 man roster, but tops on my list thus far has to be Campbellsville RB Kendon Young--smooth, explosive and great sense of the field. At QB here in central KY, Matthew Hagan has great size and runs with authority at Bethlehem. Half lineman, half receiver is TE Josh Lifson at KCD. He's 6 3 205 and just a Sophmore, has 5 TDs in 4 games. Hope I will add to this list once the year is over and I've seen a few more 1A squads.

Key to the game IMHO is Bethlehem QB versus KCD defense. Matthew Hagen looks like a big strong runner who handles their offense well. KCD's defense has been a little dicey, despite its' shutout of Carroll County last Friday. KCD can score in bunches, lots of weapons.

Looking at tape of Bethlehem, looks like their QB Matthew Hagen is one to watch. A big, strong kid who runs hard and runs their offense well. KCD has been more than a little suspect on D, but can put points up on the board against good teams(34 against Lexington Christian). Hagen vs KCD D is the key matchup in my mind.

This game has license to be a shoot out...very impressed with the "kitchen sink" LCA throws at you. Has more than a few weapons. Both clubs rely on talented Sophmore class. LCA middle school state champs. KCDs current Sophmores were undefeated in 8th grade. Fun match up.
