Wait...maybe I'm missing something. I was looking at Danville's schedule and I see them 5-0 with wins against Boyle County, Pulaski County, Waggener, Garrard County, and Tates Creek. I don't see Fredick Douglass or Knox Central. Am I looking at the wrong schedule?

I have heard the opposite, but I would not be surprised to see him under center. I actually hope he plays so we have a more accurate idea of where these two teams stand.

They are not the same team without Carr for the reasons mentioned above. HOWEVER...I have watched Wright up close and personal for three years now. I hate to put this much on one high school student, but I will personally NEVER count CAL out as long as he is on the field.

All of this is subjective, but let's take a closer look at this. What else am I going to do? Work? Colts' best win - against 6A #6 Butler. Danville's best win - against 3A #3 Boyle County. Butler has wins over 6A #9 Manual and 5A #6 Fern Creek. Boyle has two good wins against 4A #2 Wayne County and 4A #3 Collins. This is the closest comparison, but I would give the advantage to the Colts. Colts' 2nd best win - against 5A #6 Fern Creek. Danville's 2nd best win - against unranked Tates Creek. Fern Creek has a win against 6A #9 Manual. Tates Creek has beaten up on some lower tier Lexington teams and Harlan County. Advantage Colts. Colts' 3rd best win - a pummeling of 3A #7 Lexington Catholic. Danville's 3rd best win...Waggener? Lexington Catholic has a win over Highlands. That doesn't mean AS much this year, but that's still a quality win. The Lafayette win doesn't seem that impressive either at this point. However, Waggener doesn't have a win that is even marginal, and they lost to Eastern, who is a lower tier team in Jefferson County. Advantage Colts. DeSales also has wins over 6A teams Ballard and North Hardin. The Ballard win is easily the best remaining win between the Colts and the Ads. North Hardin is down this year and that was a running clock by halftime. However, those still appear stronger to me than Pulaski County and Garrard County. Advantage Colts. The "best win" is somewhat debatable. However, the best resume, in my admittedly biased opinion, is not even close.

A big-time south end rivalry...Butler has the tools to win this game. I was really impressed by their athleticism and big play ability when they played DeSales. I still give the edge to PRP in a close one.

I think DeSales has the best resume so far, with wins over the #6 team in 6A, the #6 team in 5A, and the #7 team in 3A, along with a quality win over 6A Ballard. That being said, I still think the defending state runner-up that returned a lot of that talent is deserving of #1. However, if the Colts were to add a win over CAL to their current resume, I would move them to #1. Just my two cents....

Being unsure of Carr's status makes game prep tough for the Colts coaching staff. It literally is two ENTIRELY different offenses, depending on whether or not he plays. If he is NOT in the lineup, I would play the old "someone besides Wright is going to have to win this game for them" card, focusing all energy on containing Wright - easier said than done. Meanwhile, the Colts HAVE to play more disciplined and reduce the number of penalties. Their offense is coming along nicely, but this will be a level of defense they have not faced since the Butler game. Special teams will be huge. Wright can change a game in a heartbeat, and the Colts have not been strong on covering kicks so far this season. And, as usual, the game could hinge on one big turnover. Can't wait for Friday!

NOT first hand knowledge, but from a reputable source, Wright will probably be under center again this week for the Centurions.

42-0 at half. Trojans moved into Desales territory for the first time but stalled out at the 30. Colts were absolutely dominant in all.phases.

Still 5:36 to go in 2nd quarter.

And...a defensive TD. 42-0.

Wow...touchdown Colts. 35-0.

TD Colts. 28-0. Trojans got a first down on the first play of the game. That is their only first down. 8:16 left in 2nd quarter.

Touchdown Colts with 7 seconds left in first quarter. 21-0.

Nitpicking here but Desales AGAIN has five penalties in the first quarter...

3 and out Trojans. 4th and 29. Colts defense dominant thus far.

Touchdown Colts. 14-0 with 3:25 left in 1st quarter.

3 and out for Trojans. Desales ball at NH 31.

Colts drive stalled by penalties. Punt pins Trojans inside the 10.

3 and out for Tronans.

10 play TD drive for Desales ends with 18 yard TD run. 7-0 Colts.

Trojans receive and pick up one first down before punting.

I personally saw Coach Davis nose to nose with two players who giggled during the national anthem a few years ago. He is a retired firefighter, as is at least one of his assistants. I would be surprised if any of the Colts do this.
