I understand what your saying but in brossarts case that's not true it isn't the same field every year. This years field is not in the same spot as last year or even the year before it get switched from side to side and occasionally rotated. Unlike a regular football / soccer field where if there are bumps or holes they will be there for years. Plus pendry is the community park that probably see's just as much use as a high school field does .

Boone is equally bad as is cooper. Just saying.

Games can't be played at Thomas Moore they don't have lights.

There were only 4 freshmen in the soccer program last year and they all played jv along with the 4 sophomores the rest were juniors . Sorry we only had 23 boys in the entire soccer program last year. And only 30 this year but still manage to have a successful season. May I ask why the final was a sad affair?

As relayed by Mustang Brossart as everyone knows is a small school with a total attendance somewhere around 260 kids ( boy and girls ) and some kids have to play on multiple teams. I can assure you that there were no varsity starters on those fields that weekend. There were 4 boys that were subs for varsity that were there. If my memory serves me right it was 4 freshmen 4 sophomores 5 juniors on that jv team. And until 2 of the junior subs came from the other game in the last 5 min we had one sub and they held a very talented cov cath team to 1 goal. So if your son lost to a undermanned jv team I am sorry! Maybe they should work harder instead of accusing others of cheating.

Admititly there last couple opponents have not been that good but in those games the starters have been out about 20 into the games because they have been up by 3 or so goals with the rest of the match being handled by the subs and job players .

Either Thursday or Saturday we were already scheduled for Thursday for a regular season game then this came up, but no noticed St Henry already has a game scheduled for Saturday night. BIf I were the coaches I sure wouldn't want to play the same team two days apart that meant something .

Yes this is the all a classic section final and a regular scheduled have just happen to be the same week. I think whoever wins this one will win "a"state.

BB went up 3-0 in the first 20 min the the subs started entering the game. CC was able to play a long ball over the top they were able to work into the net 3-1 a few min later BB was able to get 1 more to make it 4-1 and halftime . Then the rain started and the starters were back in for the second half and they were able net one more to make it 5-1 then with manly subs and time winding down they were able to score one more for a 6-1 final. Thanks to the refs for squeezing this game in and not making us drive down state to play another nky team.

Let me chime in on the teacher reference they ( teachers ) get paid on years with the school system not necessarily education level , yes there is a slight raise with higher degree but years with school is bigger . Trust me my wife is a private school teacher. I think she makes less than our refs do. If she taught like the some of the refs ref a game she would not be asked back.

I'm sure they were Lexington refs. Brossart had many chance to win it but they just couldn't finish. Probably should have been 4-2. They missed 2 from inside the 6 not sure how that happens.

Sorry was actually 2-2. Scott co got two easy goals . First was a misplayed ball by the keeper the second was a mental error by a defender when the keeper got beat resulting in a hand ball in the box and a PK . That seemed to wake the boys up . They turned up the pressure and were able to get lots of chances on goal and where able to put two in the net before half yo tie it up. Second half started the same as first with Scott co pressuring then as time ran on BB was able to gain control having even more chances to score but were not able to convert. I'd have to say the ar's did a reasonable job but the cr wanted everyone to know he was in charge blowing the whistle every 2 min and call bad calls both ways. However it still turned out to be a very physical match with 7 yellow cards.

Thanks for the well wishes. How was Scott co. Were they fast , strong ? Haven't seen them play this year, there record doesn't look to good but that doesn't always mean a lot.

You're right your boys do play hard no dought but to say we're jealous is a bit funny. Barely winning over cooper 2-1 with the the aid of an own goal . Losing to Ryle 3-0, tying Brossart 3-3 with the aid of an own goal. That's 7 goals against "NKY's best defense " in 3 games and only 3 goals that they have actually scored themselves .

Sorry bout the one kid thing but why would it bother anyone when someone has a state champ ring when it's for a class specific sport .

What difference what class the state championship is it in? Does that make it any less impressive? There are several single a teams that compete very well with the bigger schools in soccer. And in other sports easily beat the larger schools .My guess is that child only plays one sport. I know several kids that play multiple sports and have won state titles in them in the same year.

Brossart was actually up 3-0 Till late in the first half when Nc scored from a free kick. Then Nc scored early in the second half to bring it to 3-2. Brossarts defense held until 5 min left when NC sent a cross into the box and a defender tried to clear it but miss struck the ball sending it into the goal. Overall a well played game by both teams both with boys who have played with/against each other for many years.
