Sorry was actually 2-2. Scott co got two easy goals . First was a misplayed ball by the keeper the second was a mental error by a defender when the keeper got beat resulting in a hand ball in the box and a PK . That seemed to wake the boys up . They turned up the pressure and were able to get lots of chances on goal and where able to put two in the net before half yo tie it up.

Second half started the same as first with Scott co pressuring then as time ran on BB was able to gain control having even more chances to score but were not able to convert. I'd have to say the ar's did a reasonable job but the cr wanted everyone to know he was in charge blowing the whistle every 2 min and call bad calls both ways. However it still turned out to be a very physical match with 7 yellow cards.

Beside the issue of to many refs not knowing how to properly position themselves to even begin to make the correct call, (for many they simply can't keep up with the speed of play) and foul recognition is poor, the fact that some refs must make the game about themselves is a real, real problem in HS soccer, cringe when I show up to watch a game and see them at the field. Some actually "dress" for the occasion, the one I remember best is the center ref actually wearing wrist bands, (I assumed to keep the sweat off his hands) and gloves…at the same time. If its cold enough to wear gloves, don't think sweat bands are needed.

Now wait if it's a physical match most people want the cr to take control if he doesn't than we get altercations. I'm not disagreeing that some of them want to be the center of attention but at the same time they need to have his presence felt by both teams. This is the art of game management (22 teenagers your trying to keep their heads in the game) I assuming these were Lexington refs.

Surprising result. Anyone with details?

I am not overly surprised by the result, I did think BB would get the win but it would have taken a good effort.

Having seen Scott Co play, I would definitely say that their record is not indicative of what type of team they are. Looking at the teams they have played, it seems like they have a fairly difficult schedule, Maher had it ranked at #26 in their latest update.

Have you ever run in the cold. You can still sweat and have cold hands my friend. It's about keeping body temp regulated.

Doesn't take away from the fact that some refs do seem to become over involved but that's a pretty thinly veiled excuse to see them as "dressing" the part.

I'm sure they were Lexington refs. Brossart had many chance to win it but they just couldn't finish. Probably should have been 4-2. They missed 2 from inside the 6 not sure how that happens.
