I'd agree with everything said. Johnson dominated the first half for Scott County, had 17 and 9 at the break. Washington had 19pts, 4r, 4a, 3s. Jones played well also, scored some early and set guys up later in the game. Stearns ended with 26pts, 9r, 5a. Blevins had 32 including 9-16 on 3's. I'd be curious if there was a reason Peyton Woods only took one shot all night, he ended with 5 points. From what I recall he was mostly guarded by Jones and Johnson. They did a good job on him so it would have just been that Wayne Co liked their matchups better with Stearns and Blevins but I did find it odd he was so uninvolved. And yes, if Wayne makes free throws they win. With 19 seconds left Blevins hit a three to put Wayne up one and was fouled but missed the free throw. Then after that Woods and Stearns both missed the front end of 1-1's that could have put Wayne up 3 points (don't recall order but one happened, Wayne got offensive rebound then other happened). I was at the Dunbar/Wayne game last weekend and this really reminded me of that game. Scorers for Wayne did really well but lost battle of boards badly. Outside of the big 3 for Wayne they had trouble handling the pressure D of Scott Co (this week) or Dunbar (last week). One last thing, I've only seen Scott County play a few times but this is by far the best I've seen them play. I really look forward to the rematch in a couple weeks and I'd bet the outcome is different.

It has been awful here in Lexington tonight. I only live 15 miles from Versailles and left to go watch Woodford and Bryan Station but turned around a couple miles into my trip, it wasn't worth it.

Didn't weather change the schedule last year? I think Trinity and Holmes were supposed to play but didn't make it or something like that.

Agreed. I watched them beat West Jessamine at Southwestern and they looked solid. The big kid, Oumar Keita, has improved a lot since last year. He is still thin but is noticeably bigger than last year. He is also much more comfortable on the basketball floor. It is starting to look more natural to him where last year everything was forced. Chisolm and Mercado are both good guards, especially Chisolm.

Personally I was much more impressed with Wayne tonight than against Dunbar last weekend (only two times I've seen them this year). They outscored E-town 22-5 in the second quarter, as good a quarter as a team can play. E-town had two buckets...a three when they had a kid called for a foul as the ball was in the air and a jumper at the halftime buzzer. Wayne's defense against Dunbar last weekend was...I'll just say not the best. They actually played some tonight. Nick Gillespie (scrawny 6-6 kid) played as good as I've seen the last two years. He wasn't a world beater but made layups, rebounded the ball, and blocked shots. Really solid game for him. It also didn't hurt that Peyton Woods didn't miss a shot in the first half.

I can't confirm for sure but I would imagine the bracket is correct. Can't see a way for the bracket to make sense if Scott Co plays tonight. Also, in past years Scott Co has played on Wednesday then Friday.

I thought it was a good game. Lafayette started out hot, Lane had their first 8 points. Dixie Heights fought back and led by 1 at the half. At some point in the 3rd DH when on like a 15-3 run and went up by 8-10. I was kind of surprised Lafayette was able to fight back. Lafayette's press bothered Dixie Heights quite a bit and Dixie lost Lane a few too many times. It was a back and forth one possession game till about 1:30-2:00 left. No idea what the official stats were but I'd guess Lane had 20-25.

Not a ton. I think Jenkins is 6-5 or 6-6. Jackson is 6-2 or 6-3. Those two get the majority of their rebounds and inside points. They have a few other guys that play that are probably around 6-1 to 6-3 but none that stand out in my memory. I could be forgetting someone though.

I'v seen Lafayette play a couple times. They, like most of the top 8-10 teams in the 11th region, can play really well or really poorly. I saw Scott Co handle them easily, it ended up 12 points but wasn't that close. I also saw them beat Bryan Station by 1, who I think is the best team in the 11th. Here is what I'd say about them. #25, Harrison Lane, is their shooter. He can take it to the basket some but much prefers to be a spot up shooter. I'd say he shoots 6-8 threes a game. #44, Ross Jenkins, is a pretty good post player. He isn't really athletic but will rebound his space and has a few post moves. #11, Lucky Jackson, is their best overall player. He is very well built, takes it to the rim with authority and is strong enough to finish in traffic. Probably their best defender. #23, I don't know his name, also scores a decent amount for them. He's got an odd looking shot but it goes in, which is what matters in the end. They like to get into the 2-2-1 press like Lexington Catholic if the game allows.

Just gonna throw out a bunch of names... Tyler Jefferson, Doss ... had a nasty oop in traffic vs LCA in Taylor Co Colton Elkins, Boyle Co ... seems to attack the rim, love it Eli Wright, Apollo ... crazy athlete David Simmons, Henderson Co ... as stout as he is he gets up very well, had a couple great ones at Lexington Catholic James Bolden, Holmes ... can really get up for such a little guy Quentin Gooden, Taylor Co ... had a nasty put back against Perry Co Central Matt Rose, LCA ... a lot more athletic than he looks Jalaam Hill, Waggener ... had a nasty one handed oop at Taylor Co against Southwestern Jarod Griffin, Lexington Catholic ... I haven't seen him dunk one this year but saw enough last season to know he can get up quick from the head of that press

Elkins would have made a big difference in the game IMO. Not only rebounding but as a deterrent to Dunbar's players driving to the basket, particularly Williams and Hollingsworth. Williams had a rough first half or he would have had 30+, he got to the rim many times and couldn't finish. I'm not sure if it is related but he had ice on his left knee/shin during the JV game and grimaced while adjusting his knee brace once in the first half. Bell and Tyler both played great for Boyle, particularly Bell getting to the basket with creative finishes.
