  1. You said the same thing last year. SKs wasn't even the best 6a in NKY!!
  2. Nky has a history of OL and QBs. The last two D1 RBs were? The kid from Ryle? and SKs Simpson then RB from Highlans?? In the last 10 years.
  3. Hope some come soon. This time of year d1 has offered lots of kids already. That's why your JR film is the most important.
  4. I don't think its a slap. RB is a very hard spot to get a D1 offer at.
  5. I do think. If it's youth leauge or MS football. A kid needs to play to get better. I think the goal should be for all kids to get playing time until HS. You just never know who may end up being really good in HS. If a kid never sees the feild at an early age. He may not want to play in HS.
  6. I think freshman football is the point the HS HC gets eyes on kids. It seems every year a few of the better freshman would dress varsity after the FReshman season. I think this is done to keep those players involed in the program.
  7. That's my point. Best MS player could become an average HS player. So hard to tell at that age. who is done growing and who just started.
  8. Is there such thing as a middel school superstar? Kids grow at such different rates. MS superstar could be HS bench warmer.
  9. Loved my time with the NKYFL. Very good football.
  10. For sure. Little kids are not passing for 100s of yards a game. Run and run some more. Heck lots of HS don't pass for 100s of yard a game!
  11. Use your film to get invites to camps. Email the film link. Then attend camps with invites. Txt call email that coach let him know when you will be at their camp. If they like you. You will know!
  12. Not sure with football. I know for a fact that the HS basketball coach had 0 to do with the MS head coach. not sure if football in kenton county is the same way. my son didn't make the MS basketball team. He went to the HS bball camp that summer. He made the MS team the next year and started 3 years of varsity basketball. The HS head came to me at the camp and said he disnt have any say who makes the MS team or not. HS coach even had a story in the local paper about how he almost lost a kid that could play. If that coach won't have talked to my son he most likely would have never play basketball in HS.
  13. I'm not sure on the rules. I just know the team he played for had some great coaches. Lower numbers meant more one on one coaching. as a freshman he played d-end and slot WR. At that time the HS didn't use a TE. They ran a spread. Good thing for him a coaching change was made. New HC runs all O sets with a TE!
  14. My son played for a youth leauge in middel school. I think the coaching was better. Less kids more playing time. two youth teams in the league fed the HS. I would say out of the top 6-8 players almost all played in the youth league vs the middel school team. Two of those kids are getting ready to play D1 football full schlorships.
  15. That's why you should attend school camps. The coaches are there. I would only attend school camps with invites from the coaching staff.
  16. This is the reason kids that could play d1 don't. Most NKY hS coaches know only a handful of D1 coaches. Why only have a few teams in the fold when you can have 100s. Do you think a d1 coach cares what your HS coach thinks? Kids get offers with out starting varsity football. Camps film speed size. That all D1 cares about. Stats your HS coach 2nd. If you sit back and let the HS coach do it all you better be a can't miss stud.

  18. Still have a way to go for a .500 record. Does any school in NKY have a less than .500 all time record vs SK?
  19. My son is 6'5 shoes off. I'm 510 1/2 and Mom 5'7. Father in law 6'4.
  20. SK has so few winning season in thier history. How can they even be on the list???
  21. You say this every year. I hope it is. But history will say NOT!
  22. 100% right. Friday night stats wont get you offers. Lots of very good HS players never get an offer. d1 looks at what can be. Not what is. If a kid has the size and speed skill to play at that level. It's not as hard as some may think to get offers. There just are not many kids with the tools D1 is looking for. So if a kids has those tools it's easy to have them found. D1 coaches are looking for reasons to rule a kid out. He's too slow, too short, no skill. Also Muti sports can help. My son was a varsity basketball player. Started for 3 years. Coaches loved that. Watched a high lite film of an O Lineman that was recuited at the school my son is going to play for. 6'8 310lb kid dunks tomahawk at the end of the football tape. Nuts a guy that big can jump. Kid was a very good bball player in HS.
  23. Camps are the =1 way to get recuirted. If you want to play D1 go to camps and compete. Kids get offers on size speed skill. Film matters. Stats don't. If you have the size speed skill. Send out film go to camps.
  24. Read and help more NKY kids get a free education!
  25. Congrats to the kid!! Just shows how offers are made. camp performance > film or stats.
