I probably give the advantage to Desales on pure numbers alone. They have a published roster of 64 players excluding freshman. I suspect that have at least 15 or 20 freshman. Mayfield lists its roster at 53 including freshman. I doubt there are any 2A teams in this state that can put 85-90 players on the sideline. That is huge advantage. Desales has done a wonderful job in getting kids to come there to play football. My vote goes to Desales.

Looking forward to seeing new Desales stadium/field next year. Goodness knows that the team and their fans deserve it.

CAL 14-Desales 10. Looks like Pirtle is new feature back. Not sure what happened to No. 5. Interesting to see if Pirtle can maintain his four quarters of defensive presence and also carry the ball 15 times. He is certainly a talented player. Desales will likely have to pass the ball just a little to keep the defense honest. Despite earlier CAL victory game is a toss up. Winner should be favorite in all remaining games. They should put this game at Paja Johns on Friday and make it a Double header with St X-Trinity.

If Caldwell Co and CAL are as good as they hope they are, then it will all work out on November 28th. Although I suspect that Murray, Desales, Owensboro Catholic and others may have something to say about that.

I appreciate how Mike Fields of the Lexington Herald still has Desales ranked ahead of CAL. Nice work Mike. I would rank them CAL, Caldwell Co. and Desales.
