  1. A little more to the story. The St. Henry goalie messaged my son yesterday and apologized. Nice thing to do.
  2. except that they scored of set plays with everyone back.
  3. I agree mostly with what you said. However, three goals should have been enough. One comment on the St. Henry goalie all of the St. Henry fans might want to consider when they are defending him. My son had his hand stepped on by a St. Henry defender in front of the St. Henry goal. He gets up in obvious pain, and the St. H goalie said "I hope its broken." It probably is.
  4. And again, I am not arguing for Ballow for OPOY. Mr. O'Brien is a fine choice. Just questioning some of Sir!'s arguments which were maybe not well thought out. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but that's all it is at this point.
  5. Is that the requirement? How many goals did Mr. O'brien score against top 25 teams?
  6. I don't know if the coach did or not. I was really not trying to argue for him post-award. I was just addressing the implication that all of his goals came in blowouts as if those games were all against weak opponents. My guess is in many of those games, Ballow sat more than many of the other offensive players sat in any of their games.
  7. Statistics don't lie, statisticians do. Sure, if you eliminate games where CCH scored 5 goals or more, and won by 4 or more, you eliminate a lot of his goals. There were 6 such games. So if you eliminate those 6 games he scored a lot fewer goals. You might want to look at who those goals were against. A better measure might be were the goals scored against teams rated over 100 in the Maher rankings. Or, eliminate six games from everyone and recalculate.
  8. My son who was feet away from the play said it was the most obvious handling. His hand was out, and moved down to the ball which landed to his feet for his clearance. Ball would have been through for a chance at goal. Maybe neither of the officials saw it, but clearly an infraction.
  9. I think the scenario was players taunting the fans.
  10. I think it adds a little fun to the game, I don't see much wrong with it. I guess you'd have to see how over the top it was. I'll take BigMans word for it that it was over the top. However, you don't want to give too many additional subjective decisions to the refs who sometime struggle with consistency as it is.
  11. Agree. I was at the game. Very even game. St. X put a lot of pressure on the CCH defense early in both halves. One of the St. X players hit a rocket of a shot of the cross bar minutes in, but CCH settled down in both halves and had the better play at the end of each half. CCH was up 2-0 at halftime and gave up a goal early in the second half and hung on.
  12. I didn't know taunting fans was card worthy.
  13. OK. Say "they had the 4 seed", if it makes you feel better. Not sure why you care when you'd prefer to play the other three rather than nobody. It has been said on here that this district does not seed. I assume that's true. It is a draw. If you want to say that CCH get's the #1 seed without playing anyone, then go ahead and remain puzzled and irritated by it.
  14. I know what he meant. Flops whines that CCH doesn't play these guys during the regular season, and now whines that he'd rather play these guys then be 100% sure he'd advance to the regionals just to get a better seed.
  15. So you're saying that you'd rather play two of either Holmes, Cov Latin or Holy Cross than have a 100% chance to advance. Wow!
  16. Exactly. That's why they should not do it at all. Can't tell me they can't control it. To me it's stupidity.
  17. So do I have this right? First game in district is the final? Both go on? Or, is NCC out as Sportsfan says? And, they say that CCH district is easy.
  18. for everyone south of Florence that's wuferd n coke.
  19. Not in the specific case I was thinking about, but yes they could be in the right position.
  20. The officials that make no attempt to keep up with the play should hang it up. There are too many. (1 is too many). ARs too. Hard to say a ball has crossed the endline when you're 5-10 yards from it.
