  1. While I did not see Boone's coach taking out aggression on a trash can, he does get excited when he sees a perceived injustice. Both teams were being physical. A majority of the foul calls went against Boone players. He was looking most likely looking for more equity in the foul calls.
  2. Final. Called at half due to rain and dangerous field conditions
  3. Thanks for the info oldgrappler. Tired eyes make it difficult to see the little numbers on their jerseys.
  4. My apologies on the jersey numbers. Looking at KHSAA, #3 is Beau Downs who had both of Boone's scores. #11 was who assisted Beau on the left side. KHSAA does not list a #11 for Boone but I know that was the number on the jersey.
  5. To add some detail to oldgrappler's post. Boone came out of the gates pressing LC. It was a very physical match. It became apparent especially late in the first half that LC was frustrated that they were being matched physically. Both teams had about the same amount of shots on goal through the whole game. Boone's keepers made a number of excellent saves. The first score for Boone happened at the 29 minute mark. Number 11, I think Bo Downs, got a through ball to run out with the LC sweeper on his hip. #11 took a hard shot at the goal, LC keep made a slapping stop only to have it bounce right back to the Boone player for a bottom of the foot tap in. #11 scored again at the 22 minute mark with a nice feed from #3 on the left side of the goal. #11 came running down the middle to slam the ball into the back of the net. Half time, it was 2-0 Boone. LC came out second half doing a better job of possessing the ball. The Boone defense bent but didn't break. #22 for Boone had a very good game on defense. It is nice to see #4 for Boone playing stopper. The young man is very fast and did a good job of breaking up any momentum LC forwards started. As with many high school teams, Boone seemed to lose a little focus for about a 12-15 minutes span which is when LC scored at about the 25 minute mark. I don't know if it was the rotation of subs or fatigue. I think Coach Norris will get that figured out by district play time. I do have to say that Boone has shown some very good improvement over the last 3-4 games. They still have more to improve on but they should be fun to watch. Congrats to Boone players and coaches for doing NKY proud.
  6. Boone came out playing well. They had many shots on goal. I think Boone had 7 shots before Dixie had their first. The match, as usual, was a fairly physical match. Dixie netted first score off a free kick around the 23 minute mark. Half time it was 1-0 Dixie. Dixie came out second half possessing the ball better than they did in the first half. They had a few more opportunities but Boone's defense was holding. Boone's keep, Benjamin, had an awesome game. He made a couple great saves. Unfortunately for him, Dixie made a run out, getting a step or so on a Boone defender. Benjamin made a very athletic deflection. The ball popped out to the Dixie player and he made a second shot. A Boone defender had recovered at this point and deflected the ball into the goal. That was about the 30 minute mark. Boone's offense kept up their pressure on Dixie. Not sure what the actual shots on goal tally was, I stopped counting when it was 25-11 in favor of Boone. Boone finally netted their first goal about the 26 minute mark. They netted their second at the 13 minute mark. Their third was netted at just under 4 minutes left. At the 1 minute mark, Dixie was pressing. The collision in the box occurred. Thus Dixie was awarded the pk which they capitalized on. Both teams played like they wanted it. The physicality was borderline a few times but the CR kept it under control for the most part. Both teams showed they are very competitive. It should make for a good season for both teams this year.
  7. Report from the field on the pull down was that the CCH player behind the Bonne player gave him a forearm push at the same time of the player committed the pull down. Both players were warned, no card.
  8. As a fan in the stands for this game, it is by far the worst officiated game I can recall. It has been reported that the center referee, before the game, went to a few of the non-white Boone kids and said, "I am not going to put up shenanigans, comprende?" That sounds as though he already had a pre-conceived judgement of the Boone kids. It snowballed from there. There were numerous yellow cards. Boone received 4 red cards, Scott received 2 red cards. The boys were reacting on the field based on their viewpoint. A couple of the Boone players received reds because of their mouths. If it's true, I think the center referee did not help his cause by what was reported that he had said to the Boone players. I do commend the coaches on both teams for trying to control their teams. I think the fans of both teams were disappointed in how the game progressed. The CR inserted himself in the game and it had an impact on how the game turned out.
