Seems as if it could a very tough sell to some of the current players to replace some of the coaches. The staff could be the key.

There is a wealth talent on that team. I believe the question will be how effective he will be at building a staff. They have to get away from parental effluence over the coaching decisions and playing time. There has been a history of dads coaching as volunteer coaches. Mark has some connections with some dads on the BE team also.

It appears that Mark Sander and the Bullitt East HC job are not going to happen. They seem to be going another direction.

Daniel McDonald was a HC for Waggner in around 2010 or 2011. He was the QB for Willie Foster when Foster was the HC at Waggner. I believe McDonald`s last job was at Seneca as the offensive coordinator.

Coach McDonald played for Willie Foster, the principal of Bullitt East, in high school.

I saw him play in person. While he is a good back; he was not the best back on the field that day, much less the best in the state. The kid from Bullitt East was the best back on the field that day. Granted that is the only game I saw either one of them play.

It seems clear that Mason is not interested in the Bullitt East HC job. Still really does not give any insight into who is the likely candidate. This could be a very interesting hire that could have immediate impact the up coming season for many teams in that class.

Coach Miller from Fairdale came last year as an assistant coach. Then there are the constant rumors about Mark Sander, who has ties to some of the kids at BE now.

I don't know the answer to that question. He was the Head Coach at Iroquois. The the rules different in Bullitt county from Jefferson? I would have to guess that he is not. My younger son played at DeSales while he was there and he was not a teacher, but the AD.

I spoke to some people that know Mark really well, and he has been interested in BE for sometime. Two of his old coaches from DeSales have kids playing at BE now. One of them is one of his best friends that coached under Mark for 15 years. People close to the team are saying that he is their first choice. Surely they would not discuss it with a new coach while they still have one. Their coach has not resigned. Many people around the program are saying that he will soon.

I believe that Chris Mason is an assistant Principal at Bullitt East. I thought that Asst.Principals could be coaches, though. I think it was a shock to many people in Boyle County that he would leave for a non coaching job.
