  1. Anything new here? This sounds like a tragic situation for the these players.
  2. They will play against the district with Highlands and Cov. Catholic, i believe.
  3. That makes sense. It really seams like Coach Lawson was caught between a rock and hard place. He certainly seemed to have them moving the right direction last year.
  4. This seems as if they were trying to get around the BCPS rule regarding AD and HC. What exactly is an "unoffical HC"? It seems like it was just an attempt to get more pay for the coach. I have no problem with a guy trying to provide for his family. It just seems as if the Bullitt county school board of education is making it difficult for the schools in there district to get the high level coaches that may be available.

  6. This is a really unfortunate situation for the kids on that team. They really seem to have a lot of challenges ahead of them. I really wish them the best of luck with. Any have any insight on who they may have in mind for a replacement, or whou would be interested in taking on this challenge? Surely they have some feelers out.
  7. My sons football coach when he was in middle school probably punted 2 or 3 times in three years. Like someone said before, it had something to do with talent, but he once told me that the likelihood of getting a 1st down on 4th increases drastically the deeper in the hole you are. the potential for the other team capitalizing on you not getting it goes down the closer you are to your opponents end zone. He sent me a link to this article a few years ago. 4th Down Study - Advanced Football Analytics From what I saw it that he was usually right when he did not punt.
  8. The thing that i found a bit surprising is that, having all new offensive and defensive schemes, you would not want to introduce them to the new system. I also belive that they will have a big question at most of their skilled positions. They graduated both starting RBs, they will have questions regarding two former starters at QB, and major changes on defense. I can see how there are questions about the value of spring football in general.
  9. I do not think it is due to baseball/ track. To my knowledge most of the baseball player at BE focus so heavily on baseball that they not play football. Some run track, but probably less than most schools.
  10. Apparently new Bullitt East Coach Mark Sander will take a novel approach to spring football. He informed his players that they will not even hand out equipment in the spring. They will instead use the time to evaluate players speed, agility, etc. Any thoughts?
  11. I was thinking the same thing. They really did lose a lot of skilled talent, and some quality linemen. Barbour is very good, and will difficult for any team to contain.
  12. Those numbers are a little skewed. The offense went through the QB last year, even the rushing yards. Two years ago they had one of the most prolific rushers in high school football. Dukes, the QB, is gone, and it does not appear that they have anyone in the shadows. The rushing yards two years ago came from Carnell. He is gone too. It may be many years before they see two guys like those two walk through the halls.
  13. Bullitt east is off of a disappointing year that was plagued by injuries. They will return the core of the offensive line and there QB. It will be interesting to see if Coach Sander can right the ship. This team going to big, although not very fast. They do have some weapons in the upcoming Junior class.
  14. It would appear that Bullitt Central would have an up hill battle this upcoming season. They lost a great deal of very talented offensive players to graduation. (QB, WR, RB to name a few)
  15. Here is a link to the legislation. It does not set a concussion protocol. 16RS - Legislative Record Online
  16. Not to be argumentative, but the legislation does not create a concussion protocol similar to the NFL and NCAA. It is merely feel good legislation that will have no positive effects, and could have some unforeseen repercussions. In the sponsors own words it`s intention is to merely add a layer of protection to the existing program. It will in effect add a layer a legislated responsibility to referees. KY lawmakers need to leave this to the medical professionals. Educational bureaucrats and legislative bureaucrats do not have the education or training to tackle this issue.
  17. That is absolutely insane. Officials are in no position to be able to assess a concussed player. There are many variables in the decision to remove a player over concerns for concussion. Most tests that are used to assess players on the sideline are limited in their effectiveness. Which test is the best? AVU, Glasgow Coma, King-devick, etc.
  18. This young man would have had a huge impact last year, if he did not miss most of the season due an injury. He was only available for two games last year. He fractured his hip early in the second half of the Spencer County game (he has well over 200yds when he went out). Tough kid, he walked off under his own power with a fractured hip. I ran into him a couple of weeks ago, he said his hip is healed. He has put on 30lbs of muscle since the last time I saw him. Hunter Perdue - Hudl
  19. Cameron Dukes, Bullitt Central to Lindsey Wilson
  20. Cole Stump, Bullitt East to Georgetown Jalin Troutman, Bullitt East to Morehead
