TripleSevens,Not sure who all plays what sport at SK, but maybe they have been in volleyball and haven't made many practices yet if any. Would only be fitting to utilize the ones that have been at practices.

Its a touchy subject. There are instances of having younger freak athletes out there that need challenged at a higher level (depending on sport/ physicality). As far as basketball goes my opinion is that its a school decision. The smaller class "a" schools with lower numbers sometimes have to reach out to middle school levels to be able to field enough to have a competitive team. I feel we should have faith in our jv/varsity coaches to be able to make that decision if they are ready or not for that.

Walton has the potential of being a very good basketball team this year. Some girls will probably have to play out of their normal position this year especially at the point, but will be fine. They have good shooters with range, lengthy wings that can shoot, rebound, handle the ball, get to the rim,defend and get out in transition, and an unselfish post player that screens like a man.

Not heard much on BGP about her but sounds like you can't count out Mills, according to khsaa site she averaged almost 16ppg last year and is lone returning senior. Had high 3pt shooting percentage also

Martin did transfer to NDA, she has lots of potential but obviously wasn't a good fit at GC. Coach West will have his team prepared for the season. Starters will be competitive but lots of inexperience from the bench. I agree with PP1 that with SK, and Walton in the district its tough to come out on top. But its high school girls basketball and it can happen

I think that's the point I was trying to make that if Anderson Co was without McKee and Cann last year and all other teams in the region were without their two best players that Anderson Co would have still won with their depth and experience. My main point is that there are a lot of players on most of these teams that bring so much to the table that it goes unnoticed or appreciated

I guess im old fashioned as far as rankings and ratings. First of all I don't disagree with pre-season rankings that are posted, however there are several teams ranked up on the higher end with only one and two players max listed in the top players of region. If you take the top two best players off each team then who would we be looking at? To me depth and returning experience go a long way in judging a team pre-season.

I agree FBD should be a couple of good games. Seen both teams a few times this year. As far as SK vs GC, coaching is a toss up so if the officials do their job it should leave it up to the players and with both teams having some good talent I have to give the edge to SK for their size, and depth off of the bench. Sk by 10. AC and OC should also be a good one, but think AC by 15. Way too deep and talented for OC to handle for 32 mins. Good luck to all the coaches and players

Was cheering for Henry and Walton. Gotta cheer for the underdogs. Both teams fell tonight. The Walton game was much closer than the scoreboard indicated.
