48-8. It wasn't pretty. If we contained Bryce he found a receiver. If we had good coverage Bryce broke containment and ran free. Coach Abner has a fantastic football team. And I believe the only way for a Dixie v Highlands matchup in the finals is Dixie would have to win out. Tall challenge as they still play Cooper who is 4-1 and CovCath who is also 4-1. Also didn't help we lost our QB to a broken arm, a starting WR/CB to a broken foot in the 2nd quarter. Our starting RB was already out and our RB2 was lost to a concussion in the first quarter.

Well 6 games, but he has 6 INT's the last 3 games!

Starting QB Brycen Schatzman broke his arm in the Highlands game. Back up QB Kyle Forton has now just played his 3rd game ever at the position and is a coming along nicely. Has great footwork and mechanics. Solid arm. Working with him just to slow down. On the quick game, he rushes the throw and doesn't have full control of the ball. But he is an outstanding player and a better young man. Schatzman was back for the Beechwood game, with a cast, and did rep at back up QB. We gave it a shot, wasn't sure with the bulky cast how he'd handle handoffs but he did well. He also got some reps at LB. But we have a very good RB duo in Carter Skyrm and Tre Drake. Skyrm had been out injured until the Ryle game. But he has a little over 400 yards rushing on 56 carries the last 3 games while Drake had around 200 yards on 20 carries over that same 3 game span. But our biggest improvement as the season has gone one is our defense. Take out the Highlands game, and they are just on a different level than all the freshman teams this year, we have outscored our opponents 132-34. And the last 3 games combined we have given up less than 150 total yards and only 1 TD to Ryle. Kamarea Anderson leads us with 9 interceptions and Caivon Brown has over 50 tackles with 17 of them TFL.

Dixie 42 Beechwood 7 Running clock early 3rd quarter. Dixie's defense pitches it's second straight shutout. Beechwood's only score was a Kick Off return. Dixie's defense hasn't given up a score in 10 quarter and only 1 score in the last 12 quarters. Prayer's to Beechwood's Kaleb Phillips as it appears he tore his ACL.

I know you can rarely count on the outcome of a scrimmage nor just a common opponent. But Dixie handled GRC in their first scrimmage this season and HC just got handled by GRC. But we will find out Friday night!
