  1. Jones is a very good player and was used as a "bell cow" back last season but is coming off a major knee injury that he suffered in the playoffs last year. One of the most underrated kids in the state IMO. He had huge numbers against some of the best teams LC played last season.
  2. No official stats yet but Dameon Jones apparently went for 200+ on the ground for LC. I saw that on Twitter for what it's worth.
  3. Nothing to me. The state produces talent at an average rate for the population if I remember my facts right. 4 stars bust all the time no matter where they are from. Football rankings are very hard to do with the amount of players and the fact camp settings can't tell you everything about a player. Trust me when I say I understand it's better to recruit players with more stars next to their name than not.
  4. If you think Barker should be the QB over Johnson after this you either know him personally, you're clueless, or well... I don't want to say it because I don't remember the board rules.
  5. I think Trinity blows them out. I think Male is a little overrated this year.
  6. Good bounce back win for LexCath after getting embarrassed last week. Not much passing in the heavy rain tonight. Beau Allen went 3-5 for 22 yards and a TD.
  7. Covington Catholic looked like the #1 team in 5A last night. As a Lexington Catholic fan I'm hoping they actually are, otherwise this could be a long season. On the bright side LexCath has new new uniforms for the 1st time in a decade and they look sharp. No black in the regular uniforms it appears. I'm sure LC's black alternates will be worn still.
  8. It's not like there weren't points scored in this one but an SC Lafayette game that wasn't a shootout after the last couple seasons feels a little weird.
  9. Two special team turnovers that lead to points for the other side will get you beat next week and in the playoffs but I still like this teams potential. Chalk it up to 1st game sloppiness. Some stats. Beau Allen threw for 3 TDs and 381 yards. Dameon Jones had 97 yards rushing and a TD. Carson Brownell went over 100 yards receiving and had a TD catch. Nathan Schurr also caught a touchdown.
  10. Agreed, LexCath doubled up Madison Central in yards 508 to 253. The Knights were also stopped on the 1 yard line. Credit to Madison Central for hanging tough.
  11. Stallions or Thoroughbreds. Students vote on the 1st day of school.
  12. It definitely is nowadays. Or at least they get the elite of the elite over the Army game.
  13. The All-Opening Team: 35 elite recruits from college football’s top showcase - SBNation.com This article has him as one of the 3 best linebackers in attendance. Kid is also an Under Armour All-American aka the most prestigious high school all star game. I do agree that he looks like a better 3-4 OLB prospect than a Mike LB.
  14. Awesome. Congrats to Rondale. Great school, great city, and one of the big dogs in college football. I wonder when's the last time a someone from the state played at UT. Considering the Longhorns past dominance in Texas recruiting and the amount of talent in that state probably not many from here have been given the opportunity.
  15. Great school in a great city playing in the SEC, what's not to love? Congrats to the kid.
  16. Bill Allen. Played under Claiborne at UK IIRC.
  17. Lexington Catholic QB Beau Allen has been offered by the home town Kentucky Wildcats. Beau, class of 2020, took over as the starter for the Knights as a freshman after the Cooper game last season. The Knights went on 6 game win streak following the change before falling to Louisville Central in RD 3 of the playoffs, a game in which Allen was knocked out of the game early in the contest. This offer follows other early offers from Bowling Green and Eastern Kentucky. Allen's dad played for UK.
  18. Douglass is getting a D1 lineman transfer from Texas. Son of UK's new d-line coach LeBanc. Kid is committed to North Texas, can't remember his first name and too lazy to look it up.
  19. Former Lexington Catholic star Jack Whitman is transferring to play his senior year at Kansas. A 6'9 post, Whitman will be immediately eligible as a grad transfer. Whitman averaged 10 ppg and 6 rpg as a RS Junior at William and Mary. Whitman was a 2 time 1st team all-state player at Lexington Catholic.
  20. If you're a NBA prospect it'd be foolish not to go through the process. Most players will come back to school.
  21. The max D-League is $25,000. A D-leaguer who signs a 10-day contract, $35,000, makes more in that period than they do the rest of the season.
