  1. Season depends on the guys in the trenches. Have the skill guys to play with anyone in the state this year.
  2. Lexington Catholic repeats as champions at the Bombs over the Bluegrass 7 on 7 tournament held at LexCath today. This qualifies them for the 7 on 7 National Championship tournament in Hoover Alabama which they attended last year. The Knights defeated a team from Ohio 38-11 in the championship game. They weren't challenged today as their closest game came against Brian Station in a 25-11 contest. Catholic QB Reese Ryan was named Offensive MVP and receiver David Bouvier, last years state reception leader, was named top receiver. Also looking good for the nights on offense was Sam Letton, Jordan Hatton, Marcelis Logan, and Justin Brownell. The Knights D looked good behind Chase Bowling and Bouvier who moonlighted at Safety. Really impressed with the defense considering they were missing both starting corners with injuries and a starting linebacker.
  3. Did not know about X losing their QB which changes things. Thankfully these two great teams will get to prove who is better this fall! `Also seeing who people are putting at 5 makes me feel like less of a homer for this but I've decided to put my Knights of Lexington Catholic 5 in my rankings. Really like what I saw in their 7 on 7 today.
  4. 1. Trinity till somebody beats them in state 2. Highlands 3. Bowling Green beat X last year and return 18 starters 4.St. Xavier 5. IDK lol
  5. Marcelis does have 2 D1 offers from Akron and Kent State contrary to what the article says
  6. LexCath rb Marcelis Logan attended the invite only nuc 100 midwest camp recently and walked away with some hardware- Running Back MVP and Fastest man award. They spoke glowingly of him Marcelis Logan, RB, Lexington Catholic, KY (2014) 5-8/170, 4.44 40, 4.16 Shuttle, 32 Vertical, 12 reps 185 Assets: This Whirling Dervish took the camp by storm by running the fastest 40-yard dash of the day. But he was more than a missile on the football field. Logan could change directions on a dime and accelerate from zero to top end speed in a blink of an eye. His athleticism was just too much for the linebackers to handle during the one-on-ones. He was then able to flash soft hands by reeling in every pass thrown his way. Logan is the quintessential all-purpose back and his skill set is ideal for returning punts at the next level. He walked away from this camp with two awards RB MVP and Fastest Man. Development: It is unfathomable that this prospect does not have any DI offers. If I am a MAC school I would just cherry pick this kid from the Bluegrass State. Logan will need to add about 10 to 15 pounds of muscle mass while maintaining his overall athleticism. Outside of that he is definitely a DI prospect NUC Ultimate 100: Midwest Top Performers Day 3 - Coach Dave Schuman Presents: National Underclassmen (NUC) Football Combines, Recruiting & Football Showcase
  7. Kylan Nelson - Highlight Videos, Schedule & Roster - Hudl link to his video. It's nice
  8. Should be some very good competition for first team all-city running back in Lex. LexCath's Logan and Clay's Bell also having D-1 offers at the position. I think Kylan could be playing CB the next level.
  9. Lafayette ATH Kylan Nelson (2014) adds his first FBS offer from the Ohio University Bobcats. Congrats to him! He also has offers from EKU and Wofford.
  10. Illinois joins U of L in offering LexCath junior QB a scholarship. Congrats. :ylsuper: Attended Notre Dame's camp recently along with Juniors Jordan Hatton and Cameron Bailey and sophomore stud Sam Letton. Hearing really good things about all of their performances. Hatton is a 6'5 receiver in his 4th year of playing football, has all kinds of potential.
  11. Not a lot of Lexington teams talked about on here so I'll post this. Henry Clay 2014 running back Elijah Bell was offered by Eastern Michigan recently. Congrats to him he's a hell of a player.
  12. Actually Brandon Logan who played at Michigan as well as John Logan who played at UK are Marcelis' cousins. Marcelis dad is former UK star and 10 year NFL runningback and champ Mark Logan
  13. Add an offer by Kent State for Marcelis. Congrats to him
  14. Reese Ryan was offered by U of L today. Looks like him and Sindelar are the top 2 in the state right now.
  15. Can anyone edit the thread title? Reese is in the class of 2015 oops:ohbrother:
  16. Congrats to Reese on his first offer from Louisville today. First of many I'm sure.
  17. The Knights should be very good this year and should be the favorites to win their region. Defensive Breakdown Lost- Defensive line: All-City performers Michael Vogelsang and Mike Lynch, Multiple year starter Will Childers, and part time starter Mark Klueh Line Backers: All City Player Nick Foster and the 2 players who saw all the time at weak side lb Sawyer Shelton and Bob Jacoby Hybrid Positions- Lost both starters in Anthony Kersey and Alex Nash who were both 3 year starters and All city players Defensive Backs- Only lost starter was Safety Derek Hayden another All City player and multi-year starter. Casey Nash played a lot at CB Total of 8 starters were lost to graduation with a lot of depth being gone too. The loses on defensive will be much harder to overcome then the ones on offense. Returning starters include All City linebacker (and probably the best player on the D last season) in senior Josh Mesmer as well as both the cornerbacks in senior Kairon Snowden and junior Cody Mitchell who also made all city in Lexington last year as well as part time starter on the D-line in Marty Brown. The D-line is where the most players will have to step this year. Every player besides Brown who was in the playing rotation is gone. Senior Khory Wheat is one I think will get a lot of playing time as well as the transfer from Knox Central who is now attending Catholic. At linebacker I think the Knights will be very solid arguably the strongest point on the D with the return of Mesmer. Junior Chase Bowling will be stepping into a starting role after playing a lot last year and senior RB Noah Mitchell will see time at the Will position to create a very strong linebacking core. The Hybrid positions will be hurt a lot but should be able to recover with junior Braxton Couch probably starting at one after gaining experience following Nash's injury that caused him to miss a couple games. Sam Letton may play at Kersey's position. The Knights may also change a little schematically which lessons the inexperience at these positions. The Secondary should be strong again this year with the returning starters. Cody Mitchell will be sliding over to safety to replace Hayden and Senior Malik Guidry looks to be the starter opposite Snowden. This will create a really fast secondary albeit an undersized one. Jump balls could hurt them. Overall I think the Knights D will take a step back this season but this not mean I think they will be bad by any means. The defense was the strong point of the team last season (Highlands game nonwithstanding) and a lack of experience and size will hurt. The D will be strong enough though to allow the Knights to win many games this year when coupled with the explosive offense they will be fielding this season. (An offense I will cover soon but not today, this was more typing than I expected lol) Defensive coordinator Nigel Smith does a great job with this group and Bill Letton is also very involved as well. Should be a fundamentally strong group who will play hard.
  18. Let's put his speed this way. In a football program that has included Winston Guy All-SEC and NFL defensive back, John Logan SEC WR (Marcelis's cousin), Oba Wilson sprinter at Clemson and playing football at WKU this year, Ben Revere fastest man in the MLB, and Cornell Burbage another D1 receiver Marcelis's 40 is the best time on the school's all time list. Hasn't run track the last couple years but if he decides to run as a senior I'd bet money on him winning state. sta An interesting note to me is the streak of players wearing #1 for Catholic. Since John Logan every player who has worn it has had the opportunity to play D1 football. Logan at UK, Burbage at New Mexico State (before he messed that up), Wilson is playing for WKU this year, Adam Bush had a scholarship to WKU before blowing out his knee in an All-star game, and now Marcelis. I wonder if any other school has ever had a streak of players like that for a number. Who ever wears it after Logan's graduation will have quite a legacy to keep up.
  19. Reese (with an S lol) is going to be a big time QB the next 2 years for LC, if he wasn't one already, camped at Clemson, Florida, and Marshall last week leaving with heavy interest from every school. Heard Florida told him he was there number 2 QB in the class and that Marshall very nearly offered. Good week for him
  20. And before someone says anything that 4.28 forty it talks about in the video was hand timed at that combine. Kid has run in the 4.3s hand timed before. At an ESPN SPARQ combine he was laser timed at 4.53 so I think its fair to say he actually is a low 4.5 high 4.4 guy legitimately. For a high school senior that is still blazing
  21. Lexington Catholic RB/WR Marcelis Logan (2014) was offered by Akron after attending an Ohio State camp last week. First of many for Marcelis I think. One of the most under the radar players in the state who I think is in for a BIG year this season. [video=youtube;AntJ7Ee_-A4]
