  1. OLD! Man, Kick, you sure know how to hit a man low. A better choice of words would be experienced or seasoned. I'm just glad that Ashland is play a team that has fan's with computers. Those one sided debates are boring.
  2. Are you talking about the pass defense that caught as many touchdown passes from Clay Co.'s quarterback as Clay Co receivers did? Or are you talking about Drew McDavid who had over 100 yrds. receiving and a touchdown reception while playing defense? Or Ian Holbrook who had 75 yards receiving and a touchdown while playing defense?
  3. Ask the folks down in Clay Co. Oh, I forgot they don't have computers. J/K no one get all upset or anything.
  4. Thanks for noticing, Ace. When I first looked at this thread I was alittle embarrassed. I saw the title "What a Catch!", then I pull up the picture and the first thing I noticed was........ME! Being modest like I am.... well I'm sure you can understand. All kidding aside, that is an incredible catch. When I saw it live I had no idea just how great a catch it was I knew it was good but WOW.
  5. I just looked at the result from Rockcastle's schedule and it looks like Clay Co. hung with them also. Ashland could have named the score against Clay. Not to jinx Ashland but I think they win this one going away. 35-21
  6. The thing that sticks out to me is that Ashland handled Mason pretty easily and Rockcastle seem to struggle with Mason. Is that true or am I missing something?
  7. You just want the work week to be over with. :ylsuper:
  8. I stand corrected. Unfortunately our children do inherit some of our traits. Is your son's grudge a result of past playoff games or the possible sign stealing? Either way good luck to your son on Friday I hope he can extend his high school career for at least one more week.
  9. Nothing wrong with a good old fashion grudge. I've got a couple of them myself. :thumb: My point is that this game really doesn't need any additional spice. For seniors their careers are on the line. I'm sure they could care less about stolen hand signals from last year. Certain posters, yourself not included, seem to cry foul often. I just hate to see every Ashland fan portrayed as a crybaby.
  10. This reminds me of the time when a basketball coach watched the first half game film at halftime. Anyone else remember that? Rockcastle has a quality program and I am looking forward to watching the game on Friday. I think Ashland wins and I hope they do. It is a shame that someone has little else to do other than continue to bring up what supposedly happened last year. I don't think that Ashland's players or coaches need any additional motivation. This is a playoff game, win or go home. Drop the "everyone cheats us" crap. Move on, enjoy the ride, this is as enjoyable an Ashland team to watch play as any I can remember.
  11. How many times did Ashland get cheated last year? There was an ax to grind with Prestonsburg now Rockcastle.
  12. I don't know much about Rockcastle but Ashland is going to be a tough out for anyone. Like Ironcat said they could easily be undefeated at this point. I think this is by far Ashland's best team since 1990.
  13. Interesting to read but I don't think you can label it as proof.
  14. This beg the same question I have been asking from the beginning. If a public school can accept students from outside of their district then please tell me what advantage a private school has when it comes to athletics? I'm not seeing the unlevel playing field.
  15. How about if a student or two from Ohio renounce their citizenship and move in with me? I live in KY.
  16. The same people who claim that this rule is to protect Kentucky kids are also the ones who support the separation of public and private schools. They do this knowing that such a serparation would make it very difficult for some private schools to continue to operate on the high school level. The results would eliminate the opprotunity for some Kentucky kids to participate in athletics. So I don't believe that this rule was proposed to protect Kentucky kids as a hole but rather to protect certain schools in border areas. I don't buy into this protection of Kentucky kids. This rule is like Prop 20 its purpose is to eliminate competition.
  17. I couldn't agree more. If your going to be on the board please cast a vote.
  18. Just ribbin you abit in my last post cubster, I know Tim thinks a lot of you.
  19. Cubster, I will take you at your word. Understand that the only private school in the 16th region is Rose Hill. I have to believe that Rose Hill is an issue for most of the locals that want to seperate. You should also be proud of Russell's regional runner up trophy won with players from out of district. I will hold my applause until they finish first. I sincerly hope that if Rose Hill is ready that this Russell's year.
  20. I need to amend my last post. Rose Hill has not retained all of their junior high talent they did lose a starter off of last years 8th grade team to........................................RUSSELL! Anyone suprised?
  21. Nets, it is my opinion that the at large member from Ashland more that offsets Mr. Dobson. As a former member of the Ashland school board I can assure you that she is looking out for the best interest of Ashland. I just find it laughable when anyone from the 63rd or 64th districts speak of an unlevel playing field. There is nothing that Rose Hill can do, is doing, or has done that the public schools in this area can't do, are doing, or have done. Just go back 3 years ago and look how the vultures circled Rose Hill and plucked away player after player. Like I have mentioned before Russell, Greenup, Fairview, and Ashland all benefited from Rose Hill's short term problems. No one was complaining then, but now that Rose Hill has dominated junior high basketball for three years and has been able to retain the talent, people are upset and the playing field is unlevel. Add to that that the Faulkners transfered from Russell to Rose Hill and now people like the cubster are back on their soap box. Funny thing is that without players from Rose Hill, Russell's boys team would be a shell of itself. All I can say is the gate swings both ways. Some people make not like that but that's the way it is.
  22. Attached is the article from the Herald Leader that reveals how the board of control voted. http://www.kentucky.com/mld/kentucky/news/local/12968777.htm
