Votto looked very uninterested yesterday, and very sluggish today. If Dusty gives him the day off it will be Wednesday. Loves giving players 2 days off in a row, and would want him well rested for STL. But if Votto has any say he won't get a day off until November

I believe you should have more than 1 guy in a bullpen that should be able to do that.

Somebody already mentioned this but, why not put LeCure in the 8th inning role right now to giver Broxton some time to figure his crap out? Hes been the best reliever so far this year. I understand he was unavailable yesterday, but going forward I think this could be a great short term solution. Once Marshall gets back I hope they demote Ondrusek. He has been terrible since being recalled, and has no business on the roster.

I'm not saying its hung on Chapman. I'm just saying there should be guys in the bullpen right now that can do their job. And we shouldn't have to worry about putting Chapman in until the 9th.

I feel like Chapman is starting to become a scapegoat. Everytime something goes wrong in the pen, people always ask why not Chapman? At some point you have to start realizing that as long as Chapman is a closer he ain't pitching before the 9th. Whether that be wrong or right that's up for discussion. Last year this bullpen was shutdown, this year it has more leaks than the titanic, it needs help and Chapman can't solve all of the issues.

Still got 2 of 3. Not too happy about how they played today though. Defense was absolutely terrible, not gonna win too many games playing like that.

I think Dusty took the risk because he wants another inning out of him. Don't blame him with this bullpens struggles

The Pirates bullpen could be in a little trouble. They've been overworked all year, and today wont help at all, unless they can get a few innings out of this guy.
