  1. Good win for Boyle County. Injuries are part of the game and can be expected. Credit to Boyle County players for bringing it.
  2. Bracken at home combined with Cummins and I am going with the Lady Bears by double digits.
  3. The fact that GRC was in foul trouble and the fact that Holmes held the ball for the periods of times that they did played into the hands of GRC. Part of the game with injuries that come about, play with the cards(no pun intended) that your dealt with and move on. In a double OT game, I don't see where the fact that players didn't play should matter, well competitive game and if there is any discredit I think its towards the kids that played to make such an issue out of it.
  4. I wouldn't bow down to whatever your opinion is just because another poster doesn't see eye to eye or disagrees with what you said. I wouldn't go as far as to say that the other poster knows more than you either!
  5. John Wirth is an older assistant. I believe Keatons brother is the freshmen coach.
  6. Absolutely, agree 100%. He better get a darn good assistant as well, one preferably with past head coaching experience!
  7. If they are a good AD, they would suggest that you refer to your parent/player contract that I am sure all head coaches make a family sign and return that states specifics of what will/can be discussed versus what won't be. That probably should cover and cut and dry meeting with your AD should one be granted by he/she.
  8. Agree with Mustang and Elbow J- and to Big sale, no one should have to listen to input from parents. Love your kid, Feldman will coach them!
  9. Bach to Bach to Bach wins for A-TOWN this season versus Robertson County!
  10. Also as I have read through all of these post, mostly critical of Coach Feldman, the one thing that puzzles me is there is no mention or credit given to the Mason County Lady Royals. Do you think that maybe lock down defense caused the Lady Stangs to not be on top of the game? When you hold Brossart to 27 points, my friends you have done something! When you hold the region player of the year to only 8 points, my friends you have done something. When you play this type of defense that I seen the Lady Royals play, you tend to take away all the strengths that your opponent tends to have. I read about some of the posters on here talking about Feldman not making adjustments, there was really nothing that he could have done differently. The key to that ballgame was Mason County knocked down shots early and relaxed the team and enabled them to set their press. Brossart couldn't find the basket in the first quarter and that caused them to rush things, not relax and before they knew it it was something like 12-2 after the 1st quarter. Same thing happen to the Lady Royals last week in the district finals to Bracken, they couldn't throw it in the ocean in the first quarter, hence they weren't able to relax. Bracken meanwhile shoots lights out, something like 60 plus % in the first half. Give the Lady Royals some love, they locked down on Brossart and played the best defense I have seen them play all season. Instead of knocking down your head coach Brossart faithful, realize the better team on this night won the game Wednesday night. Congrats to Mason County and good luck Saturday! Congrats to Brossart on a great season, a great run, and best of luck to those graduating seniors in their future endeavors!
  11. Spot on Mustang, very well said. Josh is a class act and very knowledgeable of the game and most importantly loves the kids he coaches. I have spent many hours talking with Josh and its always a nice feeling to walk away knowing from the conversation that he loves his job, loves the opportunity to coach his kids, and ultimately loves the kids. In the end, that is all you can ask for and is most important to our youth. Leave a lasting impact on the players. Brossart has a great leader in Josh Feldman. A GOOD coach will coach his players up on the floor, a GREAT coach will coach his players not only on the floor about basketball but off the floor about LIFE! Josh Feldman exemplifies both! Shame on those that get on here and publicly trash him!
  12. GRC rolls in this one. Montgomery has had a tough week, doesn't get any easier tonight.
  13. Highlands 10 12 18 11 --51 Mason Co. 7 14 18 17 --56 H: Adler 15, Combs 9, Leigh 7, Coffey 10, Graves 7, Barth 3, Blanton 0, Clukey 0. Total 51. MC: O'Mara 7, Bierley 12, Green 14, Butler 10, Frodge 3, Boone 8, McNutt 2, Littleton 0. Total 56. 3-pointers: H 4 (Adler, Coffey, Leigh, Combs), MC 5 (Green 2, O'Mara, Butler, Frodge). Records: Highlands 14-4, Mason County 13-6.
  14. I would love to see them play as well. Both are well coached, both bring many things to the table and have different weapons.
  15. Could someone please tell me why GRC and Brossart don't play in the regular season?
  16. Clark will have a nice team with/without the thought of Byers. What happened to Coach Byers at Bourbon? What justifies a transfer of his daughter to Clark?
  17. I am not sure if he is interested or not- but I believe this would be a great job and opportunity for Mason assistant coach Brad Cox. The guy is young, energetic, and has paid his dues. This guy is ready to build a program if someone would give him a chance. He may very well be happy where he is, just a thought!
  18. Lets not forget what Bracken County has accomplished over the years and will be a senior laden team next year with kids that have played together forever. They will be a tough out next year in the districts. Mason County with their youth gaining in game experience last year and I would imagine this season as well will pay off down the road. Remember in a one game set in the districts if Mason and Bracken draw one another, it will be a dandy of a match up next season.
  19. Solid squad with an abundance of talent. Looking forward to watching these ladies compete. Best of luck and congrats to all the selections.
  20. I can't see where she would be the next head coach in waiting. This is just a out from the mess that she walked into with her previous position. I do believe that St. Patrick would have hired my dog Fred last season just to get someone in there after what Douglas left that program with no feeder system to build around. Can't discredit Chambers for trying but that was a no win situation at St. Pat and as the season progressed and she found out what was underneath, why not come home and coach freshmen. I don't see Piper going anywhere, plenty of others that would have to be leapfrogged as well. Good hire for Mason County to teach kids coming up but hold the horses on taking over the program.
  21. I agree with ChiefSmoke and zklemme- Coach Ohearn will be at Mason County for as long as he chooses to stay and for the sake of the program I hope he stays for a long time. The man knows basketball, he has great balance with his kids, and he has a proven track record not only at Mason, but prior to coming home, he did more with less at Nicholas County and took them to the Class A state tournament and came within a blink of the eye of upsetting a very good Harlan team led by Charles Thomas. The people in Mason County became spoiled by the success and the run that the county made starting in 2002 with Wells and then Ohearns run into the late 2000's. It shows with their attendance at the Fieldhouse, if you ask me they are nothing more than fair weathered fans who follow a winner. Every program goes through a couple of down years at some point in time, Mason has hit this stride but I can promise you, the Royals will be back and I hope its under Ohearn, who is a great coach but first a great guy!
  22. Monday night Semi finals should be a great night of basketball. I am going with Brossart vs Montgomery matchup followed by Mason County vs Campbell County matchup. The slip int he 37th district finals will ignite Brossart and I believe they will get to the finals with a close win over Montgomery and in the nightcap of the semi finals, the Mason County Lady Royals will make it back to the finals for the first time since the Chambers, Cline, Litzinger era. Mason County has something they didn't have last year and that is depth and skilled players. I am picking Mason County to return to the state tournament for the first time in 27 years!
  23. I would like to see this committee or whoever puts these together do away with 1st team, 2nd team, 3rd team and just have a All Region Team. There is so many questions about the placement of these kids that it baffles me. How can a kid on a 1-24 team be justified to make 3rd team when you have also a kid on the same team that is on a 20-8 ball club, or a Cummins kid that is Bracken Countys glue or Stadmiller from Brossart??? Doesn't make sense, I don't have a problem with the players making it, but really do we have to have division of the 3 teams. Have one team and then a honorable mention. If you are not going to give Coach of the Year award to someone that is more deserving than two coaches with a 26-30 record, when you have at least 3 other deserving coaches, then why not give it to a coach that played with only 6 players all year at Deming or to D. Chambers at St. Patrick who was left with a mess of a schedule from the previous coach and lasted through a 1-24 season in her first year as a coach!!! That would be who I would give the award to!
  24. So this should garner Graham being Coach of the Year, come on! Nothing smart about playing a schedule such as that.
  25. I still scratch my head that the Super forced out Simms after the success he had. Whether its overachieving or just the fact that he had kids that would run through the wall for him, they guy was good for Pendleton County. Everyone knows that Strong wanted his own guy and it came back to bite him and the entire school in the butt. How unfortunate for a great kid and player in Monroe not to have his same high school coach for his senior year just because of the political ring and weight being thrown around in it.
