He is, still very slender but his athleticism and shooting form are amazing. Easy to see why he's so highly regarded. If he puts some muscle on his frame, he'd be tough to stop.

East looked like the better team all night. They led by 10 on several occasions and controlled the pace of the game. Derek Willis' 3 with Bullitt East down 63-62 was the play of the game. The game was very physical and even a bit chippy near the end. This resulted in Madison Central's George Walker throwing Derek Willis to the ground after they both were coming into the paint. Walker was thus ejected. Bullitt East went on a 10-3 run after going down 63-62. Trey Rakes hit four free throws at the end to seal it and a Dominique Hawkins three missed to end the game 72-66. Madison Central had four starters in double figures, but nobody other than those four scored. Madison Central: Hawkins 29, Taylor 15, Bosley 12 and Parke 10. To keep it short Ballard was never really in the game. They were out of sync all night, whenever they tried to make a run Cathedral made a play to stop it. Collin Hartman is the real deal, he hit an NBA three with about 2 mins. left that really sealed the deal. Lavonne Holland had a good night, scored in a variety of ways, Snider had 17, but he had trouble penetrating all night and sat a lot of the 3rd and 4th quarters. Kelan Martin had a very off night, he did get it going a little more in the 2nd half though. Having seen Bullitt East, Madison Central and Ballard tonight. I firmly believe Bullitt East is the best team in the state! Yeah, big rivalry so it'll be close. Two good teams wish I could be there.

The undefeated 5-0 North Hardin Trojans will face off against the 3-1 John Hardin Bulldogs in a match-up of the 5th Region's best teams. Both teams are undefeated in regional and district play. The Trojans are 2-0 regionally and 1-0 in district play while the Bulldogs have a 3-0 regional record and 2-0 district record. North Hardin relies on guards Khalil Rasheed and Ruben Gosa to provide a lot of their scoring. While the Bulldogs key players are Keon Williams, Brandon Price and Daveon Greene. Prediction: North Hardin may likely be the more talented team and have yet to be defeated, but they have to travel to John Hardin and their home court advantage will outweigh any other North Hardin has. Bulldogs by 4.

RP you also didn't mention his ability to play passing lanes, he's probably gotten a bout 6-8 points each time I've seen him just off steals and the resulting fast break. He also does a good job of rebounding from his position. His athleticism may be his best attribute in a lot of instances.

I really didn't mean that as an insult to Oldham County, just expect more out of East.

J-Town is also without Brandon Johnson who is one of the best sophomores in Louisville. Devonte Haskins, Khalil Minor and Daniel Williams are good. Williams is mainly a shooter, Minor is a post, Haskins can shoot and slash. They also have Fairdale transfer Richard Deloney but he hasn't really picked up the system yet. J-Town's football players came back the Saturday before the first week of the season. They'll be much better come January that they are now.

Hendrick's play was more than just to prove something, though. He's that good, you give him a three point look and it's going down.

I feel it's more them playing down to their opponent's level. They'll be ready next week.

Kelan is going to be a steal for whoever gets him.

The Doss Dragons come into this game at 1-3, while the Iroquois Raiders come in at 3-2. Doss is 0-1 in regional play while Iroquois is 2-1 in the region and 0-1 in district play. The Dragons rely a lot on junior forwards Montrell Little and Dajzon Dukes in combination with a bevy of sophomore such as Dajon McCarley, Dujaunta Weaver, etc. While Iroquois relies on junior guard Devon Johnson and senior forward Demetray Foster. Prediction: Doss is the more naturally talented team, but they have to travel to Iroquois and face a team on a 3-0 win streak. Thus, I'll take Iroquois by four.

The 4-1 Eastern Eagles will travel to rival 0-4 Jeffersontown. Eastern and Jeffersontown were formerly both in the 7th Region and the games between the two were always a battle. The Chargers are currently 0-4 in the 6th Region and haven't found a way to get within ten yet in any game. They have played a tough slate though, with all losses coming to top ten teams in the region. They'll be led by Moe Hendricks and Devonte Haskins. The Eagles are still without star senior shooting guard Jordan Brangers. However they've seen guys like Cameron Reed, Chris Renfroe, Demontay hassell, etc. step up to fill some of that production. Prediction: I'd love to see Jeffersontown find a way to win this one, but I don't see it. Eastern by 8.

I would have said yes at the beginning of the year. But then they lost their first game to Henderson County. I think if they win tonight and then against North Hardin on Friday it'd be a big statement for them.

Taylor County brings in a 2-2 record to tonight's contest, while Bethlehem brings in a 4-0 record. Bethlehem has won every game so far by 10+ points. However, this will be their first test against a top 10 team in the 5th Region. Taylor County has a 2-2 regional record while Bethlehem has a 3-0 regional record. The Cardinals are 1-1 in their district and they rely heavily on freshman guard Quentin Goodin and junior forward Caleb Wigginton. Bethlehem sports a 2-0 district record and is led by senior guard Jordan Cooper. Prediction: Quentin Goodin has a big game for the Cardinals, but it's not enough as Jordan Cooper leads Bethlehem to a 10 point victory.

I think so, you can probably make the case that the 6th's top 4 is better than the 7th's right now. Fairdale did get beat by St. X but it was very close. And I think the 6th's 5th-10th teams are better than the 7th's. Both regional games will be held at Valley though, so it shouldn't be too hard to see which field is better.

The surprise of the 5th Region so far this season has been the Central Hardin Bruins. They bring a 3-1 record into tonight's 17th district match-up. John Hardin the defending 17th District and 5th Region champs brings in a 2-1 record. Both teams are 2-0 in regional play, and 1-0 in district play. Brandon Price, Daveon Greene and Keon Williams will be the main players for Coach Wells's Bulldogs. While seniors Alex Crowder, Andy Kerr and Troy Squires will need to step up for the Bruins. Prediction: The Bulldogs get a big game from Brandon Price and narrowly escape the Central Hardin upset bid and win by 4.
