The surprise of the 5th Region so far this season has been the Central Hardin Bruins. They bring a 3-1 record into tonight's 17th district match-up. John Hardin the defending 17th District and 5th Region champs brings in a 2-1 record.

Both teams are 2-0 in regional play, and 1-0 in district play. Brandon Price, Daveon Greene and Keon Williams will be the main players for Coach Wells's Bulldogs. While seniors Alex Crowder, Andy Kerr and Troy Squires will need to step up for the Bruins.

Prediction: The Bulldogs get a big game from Brandon Price and narrowly escape the Central Hardin upset bid and win by 4.

This should be a good one.

One of these days John Hardin is going to surprise the "big boys" in the state.

Is it this year?

I would have said yes at the beginning of the year. But then they lost their first game to Henderson County. I think if they win tonight and then against North Hardin on Friday it'd be a big statement for them.

John Hardin 64-55.
