This was a combination of bad luck and poor play from the Eagles.

Bad luck: It was J-Town star Moe Hendricks' first game back from disciplinary suspension. He played to prove something: 22 points and three assists.

Poor play: the Eagles are in trouble in any game where they get a combined eight points from Demontay Hassell and Chris Renfroe.

Hendrick's play was more than just to prove something, though. He's that good, you give him a three point look and it's going down.

No doubt. That 0-4 start for J-Town was a clear aberration based on his absence. I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do with him back on the floor. You have to think they'd have beaten at least Iroquois last week with him playing.

Tell me about Jtown Getslow we have them in the Woodford Co tourney next week.

Truthfully, I know very little about them. When realignment came through Louisville two years ago, they got shipped out of their geographically sensible spot in the Seventh region and into the Sixth. I haven't kept up with them as well as I otherwise would have.

Moe Hendricks, as mentioned above, has only played in this one game due to a suspension, and he is the lone returning starter from last season.

But Hendricks can play.

They lost their first four games with Hendricks on the bench by an average of 17 points; I really feel like we only saw our first glimpse of how good J-Town might be last night. Of course, Eastern is without their best player at this point as well...

J-Town is also without Brandon Johnson who is one of the best sophomores in Louisville. Devonte Haskins, Khalil Minor and Daniel Williams are good. Williams is mainly a shooter, Minor is a post, Haskins can shoot and slash. They also have Fairdale transfer Richard Deloney but he hasn't really picked up the system yet.

J-Town's football players came back the Saturday before the first week of the season. They'll be much better come January that they are now.

Hard to start the game with a technical foul. Eastern did not have their lineup in on time. Not sure how that is possible.

Interesting.

By rule the lineup has to be in by the 10:00 minute mark of warmups.

After the captains meeting the head referee for that night (the "R") will go check the book. He/she is looking to make sure a)it's entered b)numbers are legal and c)the number of players warming up is not greater than the number of players in the book.

Often times if it's not complete at the 10:00 minute mark the R will have the clock stopped in order to help the team out and to avoid the dreaded T to start the game.

Not sure what happened in this one.
