There are too many reasons this year for that and it's not the point of this conversation. I've never argued the team they currently have this year is peach jam good, we're talking about if the state consistently puts out enough talent to compete in the EYBL. You originally said it doesn't and then contradicted yourself saying if the Travelers had the best kids in the state they'd consistently make Peach Jam which is the definition of being competitive in the EYBL.

I'm pretty sure making the peach jam is considered consistently competing at the EYBL level. Your lack of talents comment have no basis in anything unless you're comparing Kentucky to other states. Kentucky is doing just fine talent wise

So they weren't one win away last season from making it out of pool play at peach jam? After losing Ray Spalding and Christian Thieneman? Plus they didn't have several of Kentucky's best 2015 kids. What about two seasons ago when they made some noise at Peach Jam? That was without Shane Hall, Jordan Green, Trey Grundy, Quentin Snider or D'Angelo Russell? Point is there is plenty of talent every year in the state to compete at the EYBL level, that's true this year and it'll be true for the 2017 and 2018 classes.

10-15 D1 kids is enough talent to compete in the EYBL. You said Kentucky doesn't produce enough talent to do just that. I don't find this to be true at all. If the Travelers had the pick of any kids in the state every year they'd make peach jam every year. They don't have either of the arguably best two players in the state, Quentin Goodin or Eli Wright, and they have still won 4 games. You don't think they find a way to win 4 more with those two? The problem isn't a lack of talent, the problem is a bad ratio of high level AAU teams with not enough talent to fill them all. Kentucky on average produces about 10-15 D1 kids a year, yet we have three shoe sponsored teams currently. If Hoop Dreams or the Louisville Magic or whoever had the best players in Kentucky on a team they'd be a threat nationally as an AAU program every year.

Before I started doing this, but I believe 2011 was one of the better years recently and had like 20 kids end up with D1 offers? Could be wrong on that number though

Unless Hopkinsville adds transfers, Christian County will have the best team in the 2nd and the region MVP in Tyrik Edwards. Tyrik lit up every team he played at the AAU state tournament this weekend. Plus County could be adding a player I've heard.

I'm not sure you could for sure take anyone off the team and improve it by adding Drew McDonald. They might be just as good but not better

Zack is a good player, but when I saw him this season he struggled with bigger and more athletic guards which is what Indiana has. Nobody is mentioning Trey Moses either, but the 2015 class in Kentucky has much more size than usual and while Trey or Drew could help the team their are good players in their place.

Zach is a nice player, but Hagen should definitely be on it over him. Also who is even backing up Beetle? Would have liked to see Timmy Taylor, Jeremiah Bell or Tay Weaver on that team. Timmy probably is the best choice, just because he's so much different from Beetle.

I figure I've seen David as many times as most people. He's a freak athlete (don't know about 46'' vertical, but regardless he's a freak), high energy, very strong and just dominated most all of the year. Obviously his ball-handling needs to improve and his shot, despite coming a long way, still needs some work. That said the kid's future is very bright and I'd be shocked if he isn't at a mid-major school by the time he enters college based on everything I know.

Dwayne Sutton averages 23.8 points and 11.5 rebounds and if he isn't a finalist then the award doesn't mean much. I'm not saying Dorian should be a finalist, but he has put in a Mr. Basketball candidate type year. And it's not just his numbers, it's his numbers combined with the fact his team is 24-2, largely because of his play.

You can say that, but you didn't back it up with anything. He has great numbers on a top 25 team in the state. Why isn't that good enough for him to be considered?

Confused why people don't see him as a Mr. Basketball candidate. His team is a big favorite right now to win the 10th region. He's nearly averaging a double-double. He averages more points per game and more rebounds per game than Ray Spalding. Against the best three teams Mason County has played (Lex Cath, Lincoln Co & Holmes). He had games of 18 and 14, 13 and 13 and 35 and 11. Now I don't think he will get on the ballot, but he definitely should be getting votes.

2015 Mason County F Dorian Henry is having tremendous senior year and has been the biggest part of the Royals 18-2 start. He’s averaging 21.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game and has thrust himself into the Race for Mr. Basketball. Dorian is a long and athletic forward that is really developing into a wing player. He’s much improved as a drive and has the strength to score through contact when finishing at the rim. He’s a very good rebounder on both ends and finished well whenever around the rim. Morehead State, Georgetown College, Kentucky State and Shawnee State are the colleges currently showing interest in Dorian. Dorian has no offers at the moment and doesn’t have any visits set up either. He’ll likely pick up more interest though and I suspect he’ll make a commitment sometime after the season ends. At this time Dorian is focused on improving his ball-handling and he also wants to improve his confidence in his jump shot. If he can improve in both of those areas he will have be truly ready to play as a strictly perimeter player at the next level. Another thing Dorian mentioned was that he just wants to keep getting better and help lead his team to the state tournament. Dorian is happy with the way the season has gone so far. But he’s definitely not satisfied yet, he wants them to keep getting better and has some plans for their end goal. “We want to win our district and the region and go on to state.” Recruiting Report: Dorian Henry (2015)

If Bellarmine takes a kid they're usually can play D1. Definitely think Bellarmine would be favored if they played NKU.

Very happy to see Ben doing so well this year. He struggled over the Summer for the Travelers because he had little help inside, would be very shocked if he didn't have a good summer and earn several offers.
