  1. Devils going to be tough to stop in the near future.
  2. Belfry 21 Russell 17 2:55 in 3rd Devils keep fighting!
  3. This Russell Freshman Benge is going to be a HOSSCAT! Russell hits the post and Pennington continues his great game with the TD reception.
  4. Russell with another big pass play down the field when they need it the most. Devils driving to Belfry 30.
  5. Pirates with a big statement to open the Half. Austin punches it in. Belfry 21 Russell 10 6:26 in 3rd
  6. Belfry forces 3 and out, Belfry now facing another 4th Down in Devil territory. Russell looking for their third turnover on downs. Belfry converts to the R30.
  7. Big story right now is Russell has done what they need to be in this thing. Two big 4th Down stops and then the 3 and Out to end the Half after a Belfry penalty started them 1st and 25. Pirates have really killed themselves with penalties. Not only the chop block on their last drive but a couple big holding calls and the Roughing the Passer on 4th Down. Devils only had one penalty on an extra point and that was declined. Russell has hit three nice completions for chunk yardage and has done a good job moving the sticks on offense. Good game.
  8. Just what the doctor ordered for Russell. Belfry roughs the passer on 4th Down to continue the drive in the redzone. Red Devils cash it in on a nice drive to keep this firmly in reach.
  9. Biggest drive of the game coming up so far as Belfry has seized momentum. Russell gets the ball after the Half so getting this back within a single possession is very important here for the Devils.
  10. Russell playing tough like I expected! Belfry gets a fortunate break as Austin rolls over a defender and the ref sees it and does t blow the whistle and Austin takes it to the house. Belfry has hit three big plays but otherwise the Devil defense is matching up well.
  11. Yes they are. Bobby Norman is passionate about play by play and does a great job. You will be hard pressed to find a more insightful color man at the HS level than Steve Mickey. Nee Jackson stays on the spot with stat updates and spotting. Anytime you get a hometown broadcast there will be a noticeable slant to the home team but the Belfry crew is some of the best you will find at trying to avoid being cheerleaders and giving praise to the opponent any chance they can.
  12. Cannot say with 100% certainty. Belfry has a youtube page Pirates Sports Network that has been pretty consistently streaming their home games when they aren't being carried by another streaming provider. They have carried the last the consecutive weeks. https://www.youtube.com/@bhspiratesportsnetwork WXCC 96.5 will definitely have the Belfry radio call. I appreciate what they are doing on the youtube feed but what I will tell you is the Belfry radio crew are seasoned veterans, professional, and very good at what they do. If you can find a way to utilize the radio audio along with the video I would advise it.
  13. I really like Hart’s QB Shoulders. Johnson for Union is a bad man, but to me Shoulders is the guy that will be the difference maker in this game. He brings that veteran savvy and has been making big throws in key moments. I will take Hart by a score.
  14. I expect this to be closer than some seem to think. Russell has a nice little passing game going and exemplify a level of patience on offense. I think this is a recipe to move the ball and move the clock. Belfry will have an advantage at the line of scrimmage and has more explosive playmakers, but if Russell can keep constant pressure on Belfry and DJ ish their drives, all it will take is limiting the big play to slow the game down and give themselves a chance. I like Belfry to advance but think this will be a competitive game throughout. 35-21 Belfry.
  15. Strength of Schedule. Calpreps has the best team that Sayre played all season as Bracken County. Bracken County is the #6117 team in the country according to Calpreps. Of the 11 different teams (they played Paintsville twice) that Pikeville faced. Only two of those teams were ranked lower than Bracken (District foe Paintsville & First Round foe Pineville). I won't say Pikeville blows them out or even wins convincingly... I think this is a flawed Pikeville team and a vulnerable team... but when the game gets tight I have to side with the team with an active dynasty in Class 1A and a team who has played a brutal schedule with plenty of close games along the way to prepare for a moment like this.
  16. Not out of the realm of possibilities. Bell County is playing really, really good football right now. In fact, with the way their defense has played and how their offense has found it's footing with a clock controlling run game as a surprisingly efficient pass game... I think they may be the only team I could see beating a CAL/Central on a neutral field. With that said, look at that Bell County vs. Boyd County game that was at Bell earlier this year. Boyd was the only bonafide passing team Bell faced and the Lions gave them fits. I think LexCath is definitely a decided underdog in this game and Log Mountain in November is a different world than Log Mountain in Summer, but if LexCath can successfully move the ball passing and Bell lays it on the ground a couple times this one could be interesting.
  17. Semi-Finals Scenarios, hope this helps out. I am taking this from the approach of Belfry & Russell but this should give us all scenarios. Class 3A isn't too complex because of how the seeding plays out. The Union County vs. Hart County game is static. Essentially those guys have the same exact scenarios since they are successive seeds. Belfry Win Scenarios Belfry HOST Scenario- Requires both a CAL and Bell County loss. Belfry hosts Central, winner of Hart/Union hosts LexCath. Belfry AWAY Scenarios: Scenario 1: If Central wins, but Bell wins. Bell hosts Central. Belfry travels to Union/Hart winner. Scenario 2: If CAL wins and Bell wins. Belfry travels to CAL, Bell hosts Union/Hart winner. Scenario 3: If CAL wins and LexCath wins. Cal hosts LexCath. Belfry travels to Union/Hart winner. Russell win scenario: HOST- No options AWAY Option Scenario 1: If Central wins and LexCath wins. Hart/Union winner hosts Russell. Central hosts LexCath. Scenario 2: If Central wins and Bell County wins. Bell County hosts Russell. Hart/Union winner hosts Central. Scenario 3: If CAL wins and LexCath wins. CAL hosts Russell. Hart/Union winner hosts LexCath. Scenario 4: If CAL wins and Bell wins. CAL hosts Russell, Bell hosts Union/Hart winner.
  18. We get to renew the Russell vs Belfry rivalry!
  19. Nope. Russell coming to Belfry like old time’s sake.
  20. FYI, should be Lloyd Memorial coming to Belfry if their score holds up against Russell. LexCath will be the 4 seed in the East in RPI and heading to Bell County.
  21. Belfry made it closer than it needed to be wasting a couple golden opportunities in the First Half that should have been easy passing TDs. Rock got the momentum before the Half and tied it. Belfry came out and posted two 3rd Quarter TDs as Fullback JJ Austin and the Belfry OLine took the game over. Rock got a late TD but the Pirates recovered the kick and would not relinquish the ball.
  22. Great win for Belfry in a an old school smash mouth game.
  23. Rock out of timeouts. Ball at the Rock 22. Austin converts it on the left side. Victory formation coming up. Final Belfry 21 Rockcastle 13
  24. Rock out of timeouts. Ball at the Rock 22. Austin converts it on the left side. Victory formation coming up. Final Belfry 21 Rockcastle 13
