Not very familiar with the Walton Verona program and/or parents, but it seems to me that this is every coach's problem no matter what school you are talking about. Unrealistic parents.
Coach Aldridge seems to have the young kids fired up in Silver Grove. As in checking references, I am sure that they checked his references. That is pretty standard during any interview process. Did you happen to check them also?
Not all college coaches make big money like everyone thinks. Top assistants at low major DI schools make anywhere between 50-60k. But being a hs coach is much more stable I would guess. And some people make career moves for other motives other than money. I guess it just depends on what you are looking for.
I talked with someone this weekend that mentioned B.J. Aldridge for the job. Former college and professional coach looking to get back into high school coaching in Kentucky.
