Well I guess since Frankfort won't be able to let loose the "JUICE" on Mayfield's dominant line, they will have to settle with hoping for a little "MAGIC". The cupboard is far from bare.

Ezell had some good players on that squad just way overshadowed by talent on the other side.The point guard could have easily played for HP. It just goes to show how good these kids can be when they play hard and as a team. The HP staff certainly gets that out of them.

Great display of D1 talent yesterday as Huntington Prep wins 133-56. If you weren't there, you should have been. How many high school games feature 27 dunks. Can't wait till next year, looks like there could be a game against Huntington Prep and Oak Hill.

The game is at Frankfort High and it seats 2500+.

They have kids being recruited by both UK and UL, what better location than in between the two. Ultimately, they were asked and accepted.

Frankfort will have 2 players 8th grader Kaylee Tillman and 7th Grader Shaylen Washington see significant time on varsity as well as Freshman Sibre Morton who will compete for a starting job.

One of the nations top high school teams, Huntington Prep, will take on Ezell Harding Christian from Antioch, TN., Sunday, November 17th at 2pm. Tickets are only $5 at the door. Huntington Prep has several D1 commits including Josh Perkins - Gonzaga, Jalen Lindsey - Providence, Angel Delgado - Seton Hall, Levi Cook - West Virginia, as well as 5 star former U of L commit Jaquan Lyle and two juniors Montaque Gill Caesar and Thomas Bryant, who are being recruited by UK and U of L. Also the game will see sophomore Miles Bridges who is being recruited by UK, Ohio State, and Michigan State. Ezell-Harding is a fixture in the Tennessee State Tournament and is coached by former Vandy Player Shan Foster.

There is no KHSAA rule in basketball for how many years a kid can play on varsity. You regularly have ms girls at small schools play varsity for 6 years. The rule actually is that they only have 4 years after they enter high school. The new ms rules apply to next years 6th graders and the grades behind them playing up on the high school level. If they are not on a freshman high school roster this year "grandfathering" them in then they will not be able to participate in 2014-15. For most this is not a problem but for the small schools, it can be. I disagree with the sitting on the bench and not getting anything out of it, for I would expect that they are getting to practice everyday with the older girls. This is just another attempt to lay a blanket over ALL for the FEW that need to be covered.

I think Frankfort and Brianna Burbridge will enter the top 10. They have had some nice additions to the team.

The Lady Panthers will have to rebound from losing 5 seniors from last years team. For the first time in 6 years they will not be led by the Brown sisters who have moved to the next level. Returning though is sophomore Brianna Burbridge, who has led the team in scoring the past two years, senior guard Cori Cunningham, back up point sophomore Jade Morgan, and junior center Jayne Yocum. All have spent time in the starting lineup the past two seasons. New additions sure to help are Freshman Sabre Morton and Sophomore center Jasmine Turpin. The question for the Lady Panthers will be how quickly can they come together, once answered they should be a young but talented team to deal with.

Not sure I would consider them "botched" hires both had successful resumes and varsity experience. The issue was the coaches "true" commitment to building the basketball program. As far as Foley's history, he made a good decision for the girls program. Of course, he found someone that practiced what they were preaching.

Has anyone heard of candidates for the job?

I heard that Coach Seamands has resigned at LCA. He cited spending more time with his family. Goodluck to Coach Seamands he was just as good a person as he was a coach.

I would agree with that assessment, the Frankfort community has really rallied around the Lady Panthers. They are a great group of young ladies that have overcome a great many obstacles.

I know that no system is mistake free and that you are always going to have some deserving players left off but I have seen most of these players play and having Shauntae Brown (Frankfort) and Aaliyah Wells (Collins) left off is truly that scenario. I honestly have not seen a better point guard than Brown.

Congrats to the hardest playing player I have ever seen. It is amazing that any player can play 32 minutes of pressing and running full court basketball at the level she does.

So ultimately what we are trying to avoid is the best team winning? This must stem from the fact that if school A brings down their best freshman then they are actually better than school B who beat them earlier when they were missing their best. If I were school B, I would be happy with the earlier win and realize that we have some work to do. After all, they are only freshman...

I respect Chappie very much and have known him for a long time but there is no way in the world that the call should have been made without the aid of a video and light. If they can guarantee that the right call was made then they must be vastly better than college and professional referees that ALWAYS look at the video and light. In the college game there NEVER would have been a decision made without the combination. It was just too close to call.

I think "pride" is keeping everyone from overlooking the fact that the Frankfort game took a toll, both mentally and physically. I keep hearing about the vastness of talent but the stats show that BB beat a Frankfort team that shot 22% by one point.

I'm sure of only 2 things after watching this game. First, no one really knows if the shot was off in time, it was so close only replay with a backboard light could tell. It is a shame that this is not mandatory, officials should not have to make that call, too much going on too much riding on it. Secondly, you can call it an ugly game but it was refreshing to see girls displaying their athleticism and not sitting back in zones. Congrats to BB. I too second the comment on Shauntae Brown, if their is a point guard better, she's not in KY. UL needs to come to the Capital and take a look.

Just wondering what you all think of this matchup. I wonder if the Stangs can handle the full court pressure? Any thoughts?

Big games see big players step up, Shauntae Brown has 27 points, 11 assists, and 10 steals. Some college will get a fine point guard next year.
