  1. Pull up a chair. Get the ottoman for my feet. Pop some popcorn. Grab me a coldie. This is awesome!
  2. That is so so sad. Always so shocking when something like this happens. NKY sends out thoughts and prayers to our football brothers in the Lone Star State.
  3. Remember two TD's were called back. So I'm not sure how that plays into your post with two more possible CCH touchdowns on the board. From my prespective the Beechwood team came to play. They were fired up. The spirit in the stadium was great. I haven't seen much excitement on field from the Colonels in the moments before the games start. I certainly did not see that spark Friday night. The Beechwood atmosphere was cool. The parents were very nice and accomodating and the kids seemed well-behaved from where i was. I will go back to the LexCath game. The CCH players seemed fired up. Pumped up and truly excited to get that game started. and remember that was a game took forever to begin and ended at 1am! Any thoughts about players seeming 'up' or not before games?
  4. Again..Oldguy..I don't have a dog in this race. I have no ax to call a coach and ask him what in the heck's he's doing and if you do that or even walk up and ask him...you have more in it than you will admit. this is a forum to express opinions and you always get a little testy when someone else steps on your feelings (opinions). Anyone can call it like it is. That is why it's called an opinion. And face the facts...everything is not smelling like roses over there. Parents talk and they talk and they talk. Maybe you should listen closer to what those parents are saying and worry less about outsiders picking on coaches. It's football, OldGuy and where I'm front every team has a leader and he is usually the coach. Sometimes parents do know what they are talking about. We played football. We are parents.
  5. Let me be clear, Clyde, you don't want to listen to what is happening obviously and that is a slam against all current and past parents who do happen to know a thing or two about the game. I will certainly use LexCath as an example because the defense executed and made tackles and the offense scored. There are plenty of teams that are down..CCH included. CCH is weak up the middle and had that spot beefed up during that game and that has changed. You must have experience with being an 'unhappy parent' I do not. But to call out a post for something it is not.. is wrong.
  6. So far this season LexCath played the "right" CCH team. I think anyone who was there would agree. The problem seems to be is the changing of personnel. The CCH formula against LexCath worked on both offense and defense. Both sides have been changed since then. Why change something that worked so well. Sometimes you have to Look to the coaching staff. These kids don't know if they're coming or going. I don't have a horse in this race but the grumbling heard from parents and the players themselves is loud and clear.
  7. Was that a Train Horn I just heard???? I know the Cannon was retired, but was that a train horn???
  8. This halftime "show" on the internet broadcast is killing me!!!
  9. What are the coaches saying in the locker rooms right now? Holy Toledo to be a fly on the wall
  10. We found it on the internet..thanks guys.
  11. Birdsfan...I thought we could watch this on usa.today or listen and can't find it. Can you help?
  12. I have heard the very same thing from NKY visitors. I can't wait to hear what he's calling the 'catholics' this time! Yeah, I like "The Colonels"
  13. So sorry for the loss. Thoughts and prayers from NKY
  14. Good question TOG. I have heard the trainer takes an actual gage..not sure if this is a special device that he sticks into the turf and measures the temperature of the field. and yes, artifical grass takes much longer to cool down. I don't know how the heat index factors into the field temp. Maybe we can appeal to our fellow experts/trainers on board here to give is an idea of the process.
  15. The class of 2014 is a large one and from What I have heard this is an extremely athletic class. What you have heard about tryouts this summer? From Basketball early workouts, to volleyball tryouts to soccer tryouts....did all teams seem full? All soccer freshman ususally make the team. Were cuts necessary with big numbers? Hears volleyball tryouts were packed. Thoughts on NDA's upcoming season's?
  16. Ickey Woods son suffers what appears to be a heat-related asthma attack after football practice at Princeton Keep the young man in your prayers as his condition is serious http://www.wlwt.com/health/24610979/detail.html
  17. I know this goes without saying but we see it happen each and every Friday scrimmage night and first of the season games. Have the kids start drinking extra fluids starting today to prepare for tomorrow night. It will feel 'extra' hot. Combine that with the increased adrenaline of a first scrimmage and the cramping and puking (apologies) begins. Talk to your player today and get him prepared. Remind your sons and players to keep drinking fluids. Honestly, you would be amazed at what a little extra water can do!
  18. Thank you, Leatherneck, on behalf of all Football Moms everywhere
  19. Moooowwhhhaaaaa. Might just make the trek across the river for this one.
