The new coach can start open gyms and have the kids in the weight room. The rules say that there can be no on court instruction. This would help the coach to get to know his players. Therefore, it is important that the coach get hired as soon as possible...my prediction is right after the state tourney.

I have known Coach Kinmon for many years and he is Grant County thru and thru. He wouldn't get in the way of success for their basketball program. He is a class guy!

Could be an interesting Semi-finals with Scott County and Tates Creek meeting up. Whoever comes out of this region will either be ready to take the state or tired from beating up on eachother. Lexington and Louisville regions are brutal.

Who are the possible match-ups for the Cardinals now?

I've heard there is unrest at Dunbar...any word on this?

Part of the process is coaches wanting the job too. Winning is very important to coaches otherwise they are out of the job. If the coach thinks he can win there then he might be more interested in coming. What will the new coach be inheriting? What kind of team does Grant County have coming back? By the way, I had an opportunity to attend a game a Grant County this season and I must say that their support staff (Score keeper, stats guys, etc.) were first class! Keep that up and you'll get the coach you want!

I think this was the best chance for the Montgomery County team to win. If Clark hadn't shot 7 for 11 from three point land it could have been an interesting ball game. Not sure this game was "Never in doubt" 8 to 5 after the first quarter and given MC hits a lay-up and the two free throws at the end of the half it could have been a 3 point game. Game was not pretty but it made Coach Humphreys sweat a little bit. :irked: Hard to play a game like this and make shots when you only get 30 shots for the game...good job by MC to only give up that many shots and good job by Clark to hit like 70% of those shots. I thought it was a fun game to watch! :popcorn:

Truly am sad to hear this because I like this young mans heart and work ethic...probably the biggest kid on the court all around and always guards the other teams best player (regardless of position). Any news on whether he'll be back for the regional tournament?

I agree it takes a lot of talent (which Clark obviously has) and a little luck. But I'm talking more about a mindset displayed...and this is very important!

No player does more for his team than Elisha Justice. I'm from Central Kentucky but I've seen him play quite a few times and he has all my respect! This kid has earned Mr. Basketball. Reminds me of Shelvin Mack from Bryan Station and now Butler. He does everything for this team and doesn't necessarily try for the big stats but somehow ends up with them. Give this kid Mr. Basketball!

This delay of the games is all too familiar. Think back to the Clark @ Mason game scheduled in February when Stenzel was injured. Clark cancelled that game claiming inability to attend due to the weather. That same night one county over the Montgomery County team traveled past Mason County to Bracken with no problem. Now cancelling when Rogers is injured to gain another day of rehab???????? Seeing a pattern? Not a good message to send the players on a top 5 team...we can't win unless we're all present and playing. The talent is there but are they mentally tough enough to be there on Saturday Night @ Rupp?

I must say what a venue to have a district tournament in! These teams should realize how lucky they are to play at the Frankfort Civic Center. Not sure there is a better atmosphere in the state. As for the game, both teams took the first half to feel eachother out and get warmed up but the second half they looked to attack. Franklin hit a few shots and Woodford got the ball to the talented sophomore Johnson and he took control. He is a very good player but may need to get his attitude under control in order to make it at the next level (a la Demarcus Cousins). Good win for the Flyers!
