  1. So who is the favorite at the moment? The Hoptown coach or the Covington, TN coach? Would either actually be interested? Are there any new names besides these guys? After getting all excited thinking that Morris was going to bolt, which was never realistic, the Stangs faithful on here have pushed the mute button.
  2. Is the guy at Hoptown interviewing? A buddy up at Christian Co thinks so
  3. Hearing that a West TN coach is getting some mention, forgot the name but was from the Covington area. Any one hearing anything like that or is this just more speculation? Also heard a Trinity assistant might be interested but hard to judge the accuracy of my source
  4. Yes, a middle schooler
  5. My bet would be DC Cliff Dew and I think he would not miss a beat. OC Hatchell would also be excellent but with him being assist. principal I doubt he would want too. I would love to see either if and when Joe goes and I cant imagine him staying much longer with the differences in money he could make. I still doubt he is taking this particular job, though it would be about the only job in state close enough to still live in Mayfield. I think he eventually lands at a nearby TN school where he double downs and preserves his legacy. That said, I was at the all A basketball tourney the last couple of days and clearly there has been a uptick in the talk so who knows.
  6. Russ out hustling and appear to me to be more athletic and polished. Russ is just better and would win 9 of 10. But we are much better in football thank goodness
  7. True, he said it himself but once it got traction, it's like a snowball
  8. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it if I were you
  9. While I would speculate for money reasons that Morris will leave Mayfield before too long, it isn't likely that he will do so in KY where the system will not allow him to draw nearly as much and yes I have been told how much and its decent but it would be wrong for me to say. I think it is well known here that he wants to reside here and TN is only 20 minutes South. When he leaves, and he would be nuts at some point not to, I think it will be to TN or to UT Martin as a assistant where he played. I have herd a rumor that they have approached him before. I would guess Murray State could also be a possibility but I have never heard any mention of them.
  10. My Mayfield Cardinals are very well represented, that is always a good thing!
  11. Good job by the youthful Cards! Lawnboy, see u tomorrow in person!
  12. Lets go Cards! Strange cheering for the Cards this time of year during our down time
  13. Listening to this one on mywymc.com and following Lawnboy who I want to thank for doing this
  14. I will stop by before or after Mayfield plays
  15. Blair is a old friend from back in our UK days. Got to know a bunch of the folks from over there that went to UK. Blair has always been a first class person and I could not be prouder of his son. Also was great to hear that he was inducted into the JC Hall of Fame. I think I heard that Braxton's dad also won that same boxing tournament back in the day
  16. Just visiting my Facebook and learned that this is Eddie's son. Must be a chip off the old block as I saw that Eddie was just recently inducted into the Johnson Central Hall of Fame.
  17. Not Blair's fault, he is just doing his job and a job it seems he does well. Is he any kin to the great Eddie Blair from over there?
  18. Having some area on the lake helps county and school revenues. Livingston County is a tale of the haves and have knots. There is the rural areas that make up most of the county then there is the lake area around Grand Rivers. Grand Rivers is one of the most unique places in KY
  19. The program has potential but it also has the potential to end up like a Henderson Co. To say that this is a critical juncture is a understatement.
  20. I don't think it will be Rogers, just a hunch and not based on anything
  21. Heck of a football player, congrats to him! got to meet his parents prior to the Mayfield game and can say he is from a fine family
  22. Jackson will, in my opinion, be hard pressed to do any better than he is now from the classroom standpoint and money. He had no teaching duties at McCracken and made roughly $75K. He was the head grounds keeper. I doubt that he will be making any more money. he will be back where he wants to be in the deep South. He is actually from near Paducah, growing in the Mo. Bootheel.
  23. Just heard Jackson resigned and has taken the OC position at North Gwinnett, GA In my opinion this is not a huge surprise after taking the Wayne Co, GA job last year before reconsidering West Kentucky Star - Sports
