That's earned sarcasm. Can understand it completely. Marion has to be as tough as anyone in the state. Kudos to their coaching staff. They have talent, but they are disciplined and all about team. Man do they move the ball, hit the boards hard and play defense. It was very obvious that their is no team in Northern Kentucky that will be tougher. Wow! Still impressed.Get out and see them if you get a chance. As for D1 talent, I think there are some young players on Ryle that will get some college attention later, but right now they are not there. Just hope the tough competition helps get Ryle ready for the district seeding games.

Just meant that they could have played a weak schedule and looked good on paper and racked up more wins.

Both good players, but completely different styles of play. They both do what they do very well but this is apples and oranges. A better match-up would be Tibbs and Barnette from Lexington Christian. Barnette, at roughly 6'1", scores inside and from 3 pt. range. Don't know how she will do at UK against SEC opponents, but she can shoot and handle the ball.

Ryle plays in a tournament at Lexington Catholic starting Saturday. They get thrown into the fire right from the start Saturday morning against Marion County. Have seen MC and it looks like they can turn it on when they want. Don't know who they will play after that but Ryle also plays Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. After Christmas, they are in a tournament in Mercer County. Good for Ryle to see different teams and styles to get ready for February.

Sounds like they could do that to alot of teams. It might be good to get humbled now and then. Being ranked would be nice, but Ryle needs to worry about their district games for seeding. They're in a 4 team district and the region champ has come out of their district 3 of the last 4 years. They will have to play regional caliber games just to get to the region. I'd say they have their hands full as it is.

Why all the concerns with rankings? You can find any number of combinations of who beat who to make a case for a higher ranking. So what? It doesn't matter now anyway. I don't know the rankings from preseason last year, but I do know Rowan County beat Boone in Boone's tournament early last year and Boone beat Rowan in the state tournament. Which would you rather win. Rankings aren't worth the paper their written on at this point. Many of the voters go on last year's successes and what someone else has told them. The season starts in February.

Don't you think blue pride and msc1492 would be able to tell the difference between Ryle's coach talking to a recruiter and a player. Why even take a side swipe in regards to Ryle's coaches having daughters on the team. Why do so many people have problems with Ryle's girl's team?

Be careful with this one. Johnson is out indefinetly for Ryle and Crittendon was only able to practice Thursday because of a bad ankle sprain. Scoring depth could be a problem.

Whatever the reason, let's leave the kid alone and put this thread to rest. It's time to start following the games. By the way, I was hoping someone would post a thread about the Boone-NewCath game or did I miss it?

Only Coach Oliverio would have that answer. Moss is a good player and a good kid. Her move to Boone is unusual to say the least. But what's new.

After all the posts about Ryle and their coaching the past couple of years, it seems Bomb that you would have more info on the Ryle coaches.

I need to clarify myself. When I said "some that aren't," I didn't mean some players on the list aren't talented. I meant there are other talented players out there who aren't on the list. Sorry for the confusion and let's just let them play and have fun. Could be interesting in the 9th Region. Sorry again.

Well, may be you're right, I don't know. I just know there are some talented players on the list and some that aren't. I just hope they all stay healthy and have good years.

No, I'm not her dad, but from what I hear from other coaches and fans, she would be the kind of player and leader I would want. I guess I just know how much she does for her team besides scoring. I also wonder how accurate the Cat's Pause is anyway. In the narrative part about Ryle, they talk about a player who will contribute this year and she's not even on the team. Regardless of ranking, all the girl's on the list can play and I try to remember they're just kids trying to make their teams better and that is the real achievement, not some list that is usually just speculation.

Name 10 players in the region better than Jump.

Ryle may not be the best team in the 9th Region but Boone didn't have the most talent top to bottom last year in the region. They had the best player, but Highlands had the most talent. I guess that's why they play the games. As far as beating a team like Marion, not many people will. They're very good. I do know this, Ryle plays a schedule that will expose them to many different styles of play and different talent levels. I think you would agree that Marion is as tough as anyone in the 9th Region. Didn't see the Boone game. I'm sure they did a lot of good things. The Ryle game was interesting. Marion County is supposed to be one of the best teams in the state and that was before the girl moved in from Lexington. Marion is very long and good rebounders. Ryle plays them again at the Lexington Catholic Tournament and hopefully starter Dawn Johnson will be back. By the way, a thiry foot shot at the buzzer is usually somewhat lucky, but the other 16 points (4 3's) on 6 of 7 shooting plus 4 assists by Jump is skill not luck.

Good point. I didn't mean to lump everyone together. I apologize. I do wonder though where the bitterness comes from. I don't really see how the one poster can get his/her happiness from making these young girls feel inferior if they don't play well. It baffles me. I really don't understand why the positive isn't stressed. They're just kids.

I sense some disdain for the Ryle girl's team in some of the entries. I'm rather new to this but I thought it was supposed to be a positive situation. There seems to be a lot of speculation about whether some of the girls are real D1 players. Remember, the colleges contact them, they can't help who wants to talk to them. It seems people should be happy for kids in this situation. It just disappoints me somewhat that some adults find comfort in being negative about some high school kids who are only trying to play hard and have fun. It seems to be a little personal for some of you.
