Demling's Top Players from 2012 Class
FormerCawoodTrojan replied to Clyde's topic in KY Football (High School)
I watched him last year I think at Harlan Co. Is he really 220 lbs? I don't live in KY and was just in visiting when I went to the Harlan Co./'Boro game, but he looked quite a bit smaller than that. -
NFL Predictions
FormerCawoodTrojan replied to FormerCawoodTrojan's topic in National Football League (NFL)
True. T.O. usually does well in season 1 too. Not sure about KC...i'm reading Cassell is struggling now. I'm ready for it to all get started. -
NFL Predictions

Buffalo? Interesting pick. Hard to argue with the rest. I think Pittsburgh has the talent to get back, I don't think they will repeat. -
Herd is bashing Cal right now while saying it isn't worth talking about. He cracks me up. I'm a huge UK fan and a huge Cowherd fan...I was concerned 2 years ago when we mentioned Cal -- I'm no more or less concerned now. We knew this was coming so it isn't a suprise. It sounds like Danny Oceans at the beginning of Oceans 11...i've been implicated many times, but never charged. I should change my name to "Cautiously Optimistic".

Cincinnati Bengals "Hard Knocks"
FormerCawoodTrojan replied to sportsnut859's topic in National Football League (NFL)
I am too. Carson was hilarious. I've enjoyed each season of it. I think I liked the Ravens years the best though. KC was ok, cause I like Herm alot. The Cowboys year was hard to watch as a Cowboys fan...I went through 2 a days harder than that back in the day. -
I think the real reason has a little more to do with playing time. It's easier to get homesick sitting on the bench. We have had a few go play 4 years and make us proud.

NFL vs. College Football
FormerCawoodTrojan replied to formerkywrestler's topic in National Football League (NFL)
The fact that they aren't has absolutely nothing to do with my post though. I was talking about the "purity" of the game. When the $$ is as big as it is in college football now, the purity is gone. -
NFL QB's Past and Present
FormerCawoodTrojan replied to FormerCawoodTrojan's topic in National Football League (NFL)
It is very tough. There were so many that I wanted to name. And you are right about the rules being changed...so different back then. -
Come on, that is a pretty broad stroke. I know there have been some examples, but most is kind of strong isn't it?

I didn't say most were...I said most FEEL they are. Totally different. -

Being a Dallas fan has really hurt my love for the NFL. I HATED when Jimmy Johnson was hired, but he did a great job. I didn't like Switzer at all. I think Phillips is a trainwreck and i'm not a Romo fan. All of that being said, Go 'Boys. -

Unfortunately, if we are talking D1 athletics...it is probably as impure as anything. And most of them feel they are playing for a paycheck -- just in the near future. -
List your top 5 Current NFL QB's as well as your top 5 All-Time NFL QB's. I'll start and be the first one to get blasted.... :idunno: Current: Brady -- Peyton -- Ben -- Warner -- Brees All Time: Montana -- Elway -- Brady -- Marino -- Peyton Of course i'm only going to comment on players that i've watched. No Unitas, Namath, etc...

I've kind of went the opposite. As a Cowboys fan since I was a kid, its been hard to watch a team you dislike, a coach you dislike, and a bunch of players you dislike. I miss Danny White and Tony Dorsett. -
Andre Woodson Might be in Trouble
FormerCawoodTrojan replied to Wireman's topic in National Basketball Association (NBA)
You are right Wireman, I didn't want to hijack it. I was just curious where a true Giants fan would rank Eli. I've never been 100% sold on him, but he is a top tier NFL QB currently. I would say Brady, Peyton, Warner for certain...after that, I think they are pretty close. I'd probably go Ben, Brees, Rivers and then Eli. Those 4 are pretty interchangeable. McNabb??? I totally forgot him. Maybe we need a good NFL QB thread Wireman. -
NFL vs. College Football
FormerCawoodTrojan replied to formerkywrestler's topic in National Football League (NFL)
I voted College, but like a lot of you I love both of them. There is no denying the talent level and as someone stated "superior product" lies in the NFL. I think the NFL has the greatest overall athletes in the world, but I just love the rah rah portion of college football for lack of a better term. As far as the general population...NFL in a landslide. Most popular sport in the US and it is probably at its highest popularity right now. It's kinda like asking Jessica Alba or Jessica Biel...win - win. -

Top 10. I think everyone would agree with that. -

1st half Manningham was running around like someone playing flag football with no huddles. Couldn't tell you the specific play...like I said, I think their WR's are very avg at best and it will hurt them this year. Randon Question: Where do you rank Eli in terms of NFL QB's? -

FormerCawoodTrojan replied to Wireman's topic in National Basketball Association (NBA)
I wasn't trying to insult you at all. I was telling you what I thought while I watched the game...one time...I mean, i've got a career and a family...I can't break down film....twice of a preseason game...you obviously know much more about the Giants than me...and the entire MNF crew that thought the WR were bad...but hey, we will see how the season plays out. I'm nowhere near the Giants expert you are. I was just saying what I thought I saw while I watched the game.
