Cooper 41 Newport Central Catholic 7 (Scrimmage)
JagParent replied to JagParent's topic in KY Football (High School)
I heard Cooper won 41-7 , Aaron Morgan had 2 kickoffs for Td's , Great kid good job Aaron . -
I was at the scrimmage and by no means did SK beat Cooper It was pretty even through the whole scrimmage both Offenses scored when they had to and Defenses played pretty well both teams had blown coverages and thats when the offenses took advantage . Kuntz and Morris both looked well and looked good scrambling , good consentration and eyes wide open . Both should do well this year .

thanks for the stats Journal News
-
Good district win for the jags. They shut down the middle and kept the Cougars from some easy baskets . Conner seemed flat in the first half and couldn't gain any ground in the 2nd half. Maniacci had some key blocks ,I believe 3 or 4 in the first quarter . A.J. Collins started out with 7 of the 12 pts. and Cody Cook came off the bench with 2 big 3's and it took the gas out of the Cougars from there on out . Padgett played a good game for the Cougars hit some nice jumpers and hit his ft's . Not sure of the stats I'll put them on here when I get them .

The brace of the backboard which is out of bounds
-
Clyde, Cooper up by 2 , Holmes came down with sbout 11 sec left Rice missed a jumper from about 15 ft. Holmes had a opportunity with 2 put backs and the last one hit the bottom of the brace of the backboard. They called it out of bounds to Cooper.Holmes then fouled Collins to go to the other end with 1.6 left
-
Final, Great job by the jags on defense they held down a very good Holmes team.
