You would think at almost the halfway point of the season that the coach would have a better grasp on the line-up. I know things change but ?????

CC took ND to 3 games tonight. NDA wins 25-23,20-25,25-18. CC was leading game one 22-17 but couldn't close it out.

Mercy lost a lot last year and it looks like at least at this point in the season Assumption and Sacred Heart are the top Louisville teams, but a good win for NDA

Should be a great atmosphere for volleyball. Two big rivals that have played in the 10th region final the last 4 or so years. I do believe CC has their big hitter still recovering from a groin injury but should be a great match

I am sure the Brossart girls will be fired up to face their former coach. Should be an interesting match.

DC is a great coach and I take nothing away from him nor the team at all. It was a great win and I am very happy for them. But a veteran team like Highlands has to be questioning a lot of things after losing this match.

The scores on KHSAA website from those 2 match-ups. In 2006 NDA won 22-25, 25-19, 25-14. In 2007 NCC won 25-23, 25-23

I agree, I think it will be between HHS and CCHS with NCC in a rebuilding year but still a close 3rd. If pressed I'd give the edge to Campbell Co due to coaching. Coach Ballinger will get the most out of her players.

9th: I'll go about 5 or 6 after that it really is a tough to call. I almost would put NDA and St Henry as even but will give a slight edge to NDA for now being the defending champ. Although having a veteran coach at St Henry could be the big difference in the end. 1. NDA 2. St. Henry 3. Scott 4. Holy Cross 5. Ryle 6. Boone County In 10th I have Campbell Co and Highlands in a dead heat for 1st. HHS has almost their entire team back but CC returns alot too and has one of the best young coaches in N KY. NCC 3rd and Brossart 4TH. NCC has some rebuilding to do but don't totally count them out either.

It will be interesting to see. Tryouts in KY start Weds

Not sure what headlines you are talking about at Brossart her record in 2 years was like 29-28? The year before she got there Brossart was 22-9??

Coach Woolf's health has thankfully rebounded and that is not a factor.

Well from reading the entire thread and making some assumptions. I'd say on practice days Coach Woolf being a teacher wanted to practice right after school for obvious family reasons because any coach especially a veteran one knows what game days involve. If a teacher that is coach doesn't practice right after school then they are drastically splitting up their day and family time. I would have to believe that 95% or more of all varsity teams practice right after school and this is no different than NDA has done in the past either including last season.

Well in 2004, 2005 & 2006 NDA lost and didn't get past N KY to make it to State!!!! Coaching is truly a thankless job

From my understanding Coach Woolf needed to practice right after school. The other two said they couldn't so the AD made the decision to keep the two Assistants??? I was told by a ND players parent that at the players meeting last week they were told due to scheduling conflicts they were going with Coach Lanham, with Coach Long as the assistant (by the way Coach Woolf brought in Coach Long to fill in during the leave of absence). They also told the players that the practice time was going to be later, I can't remember exactly what they said but something like 5:00 or 5:30 start. This whole thing is very suspect from AD on down, IMO. Take over a program that has been down a bit (not going to State 3 years in a row is a big deal for ND) and in your 1st year 07 take them to State Runner-up (Kind of proves you can do the job, don't you think). Have to take a medical leave early in 08 season as obviously approved by AD and school. Ready to return in 09, then AD chooses your assistants over you due to practice time conflicts. What a thank you to Coach Woolf. The only true professional in all of this.

Other way around. New coach and assistant couldn't practice until later but I know what you mean. Crazy.

Rumors turn to facts. Word has it ND Volleyball called a players meeting yesterday and introduced Andrea Lanham as Head coach and Matt Long as Assistant. Reason given was practice/schedule conflicts. How bizzare. Veteran coach with a top notch reputation not brought back due to practice conflicts??? Replaced by a 23 year old, ND alum? Could this have been handled any worse?
