Montgomery County earned win number 1,000 on 1/2/19 against Garrard County.

Slowly making my way through the alphabet. Ludlow earned their 1,000th win in school history on 1/8/19 against Heritage Academy.

1949, Beechwood lost to Bellevue 56-49.

Found two more which occurred last year. Eastern High School won their 1,000th game in the 68th year of their program against Newport Central Catholic on 12/23/17. Fern Creek won their 1,000th game on 1/10/18 against Bullitt East.

Some of the above reads like something out of the Book of Armaments.

Assuming the information in the Kentucky High School Basketball Encyclopedia is accurate, considering some of Ashland's seasons are listed as unknown records. The Tomcats won their 2,000th game in school history on February 12, 2019 against West Carter. The school now has 2,002 wins going into Friday's 16th Region Semifinal against Elliott County.

Beechwood has reached the Regional Final once in 1949, losing to Bellevue. Incidentally, the last team to also win the District Championship. 2019 is the 4th time in the 87 year history of Beechwood boys basketball that the Tigers have reached the Semifinals. The other two years were 1948 losing to Holmes and 1968 losing to Campbell County. Last Night broke an 8 game streak of losing in the Quarterfinal round: 1979, 1981, 1983, 1985, 1991, 1992, 2005, and 2009.

Both semifinals are on Saturday.

One telling stat in this game is the sloppiness of Beechwood in the 1st half with 10 turnovers, but in the 2nd half the Tigers committed 1 turnover which I believe was the Bieger offensive foul.

The Tigers don't get to the District Championship game without those two and their contributions against HC.

Beechwood won their only district title in 1949. I do not know who they defeated that year, but I know two things, it was not Covington Catholic and the answer is in my copy of the Encyclopedia of Kentucky High School Basketball.
