If you believe this. You should have the same rules for track, golf, soccer, cross country and any other outdoor sport. It's for the experience and their is plenty of room.

The answer in college and pro's is easy. It's called a Monopoly. It's the reason they invented the Salary Cap in certain pro sports. It's to control teams who win so that they don't run away with everything. Imagine how good USC would be if they had ulimited scholarships and unlimited players on the sideline they would be untouchable. If I'm not mistaken baseball has no salary cap and you can see how many teams have problems with the New York Yankees. I believe the NFL does have a Salary Cap and the higher power controls teams like the Patriots from going out of control and dress limits in the NFL control their talent level. I think my idea will save the private schools from being kicked out of the state and it makes a fair playing field. If the private schools do not agree to something they will not be around much longer. This six class idea will not hold very long. (Guru, in a perfect world to do you want unlimited players in football for College and Pro Level Teams?)

Ok, then shouldn't we have the same rules for basketball, baseball, soccer, cheerleading. Dress as many as you want. Why does every other football league above high school have a dress limit and that's ok but high school teams can dress who ever they want. Don't you think NFL coaches would like to have triple digits on their sideline? Why is it ok in every other sport but not football? And it's only in high school?

Agreed, that's why I would make the limit in the low 50's at the highest. If the NFL can play with 53 there is no one who will make me believe that high school kids can't play with the same numbers.

The Dunbar Freshman football team went undefeated this season with a record of 10-0. They defeated teams such as Madison Central, Tates Creek, Henry Clay, Scott County not to mention others. Dunbar should have some great teams to come in the near future.

This six class idea is stupid. Make a high school football dress limit and St. X and Trinity become great teams but not unbeatable. The problem has nothing to do with the who goes where or how much coaches get paid the problem is certain teams dress a HUGE AMOUNT of players and teams can't overcome that depth. Football is the most physically draining game their is. If one team dresses a 110 players and has a 33 player defensive player rotation and they are playing a team that dresses 40 I hope for the team with 110 players wins or their coach isn't very good. I'm sure Billy Hicks wished he could dress 50 players on his basketball team his depth would be unreal. I'm sure Marvin Lewis wished he could dress over 100 players but the NFL has a 53 player dress limit. But High School Football has no dress limit.

I agree with some posters that Henry Clay is very explosive. But someone answer me this. Will Wright had over 100 yards rushing against Henry Clay in the first half last game against Henry Clay. Can Henry Clay really win by three touchdowns if Dunbar is running the ball at them this well. It's the same problem Lexington Catholic has had for years. Your offense can't get on the field if you can't get your defense off the field.

Dunbar Rushing Leader is Will Wright with 218 attempts with 1258 rushing yards. Quarterback Chris Franklin is 90 for 177 with 1767 passing yards 18 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Keith Bailey is their leading reciever with 776 yards and 7 touchdownds. Total Rushing Yards: 2321 Total Passing Yards: 1788 Henry Clay Rushing Leader: Rod Johnson 1460 yards with 22 touchdowns Quarterback: Salin Simpson is 126 for 193 with 1780 yards passing 19 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Leading Reciever: Clark Jetter with 682 yards receiving with 6 touchdowns. Rushing Yards: 2459 Passing Yards: 1821 Dunbar's stats were done with 11 games and Henry Clay's are with 10 games. No matter what both of these teams are very balanced with their offense. Both have good quarterbacks and good runningbacks. The way the first game went this one will go down to the wire.

Yea, right Rodney Haddox tackled Keith Bailey. He grabbed his jersey and threw him to the ground. It wasn't on the player who made the interception.

I'm not putting down Franklin County in any way. What Donnie Walker has done with that program is great. A few years ago this team was 0-10 if I'm not mistaken and now they are 10-1. But what Franklin has not seen is Highlands crowd going when their is doubt about Highlands winning or call it a big game. Last year at EJ their wasn't a lot of doubt that Highlands would win so the crowd was good, but two years ago when EJ beat Covington Catholic as bad as Highlands did the week before their was some talk that Highlands could go down. That crowd was crazy that night. Franklin County has never played in anything like that atmosphere not at Lexington Catholic or anywhere. I think if this game was somewhere else the game would be decently close but at Highlands the Bluebirds will roll. This could be the hardest place in the state of Kentucky to win at in the playoffs. Their fans are second to none.

Franklin will score some but not nearly enough. I see Franklin having at least one huge turnover that will either be a Highlands touchdown or will lead to a score the next play. Franklin will score about 17 points and will have some success but they will not be able to stop Highlands. Highlands 49 Frankling County 17 Get ready Birds I have a feeling the real offensive power comes to town next week with Justin Burke slinging it. Now that game could be a different story.

I don't know a lot about Cov. Cath this year but if they can run the ball at all they should be in the ball game. Scott County and Harrison County ran all over Lexington Catholic. If Covington Catholic wants to get into Shotgun and try to throw the ball all over the field and beat Lexington Catholic they may be in for a long night. Keep Burke off the field for as long as possible.

From what I have heard it is not that simple? I have heard his dad is getting a new job in Lexington and as of right now they are building a brand new house in Dunbar's district. If someone goes out of their way to build a brand new house I think it is pretty hard to make a player ineligable.

Mary Jo Perino said it was in bounds. You were watching her footage. I've seen the film about 50 times Mike Sweat's left foot was in bounds then he lifted it in the air he catches the ball with his right foot in bounds then his first foot to go out of bounds was his left foot which was after the catch and his right foot was down in bounds before that. Nothing was out of bounds till after he caught the ball.

In my opinion Henry Clay has the best noseguard in the state of Kentucky. South Laurel's center will have a long night ahead of him.

You must have had your eyes closed because they put the thing in slow motion on telivision and you could see his foot was in bounds. I'm not going to knock anyone in this game becaue both teams played great. Clark County made plays and so did Dunbar. There were many calls that could have gone both ways and some Clark County got the breaks like the 4th and a foot in the fourth quarter and Clark County ran the Q.B. sneak and didn't gain an inch and they got the first down. The radio annoucer even thought Clark didn't get it. But they did. Or on 4th and about three in the second quarter Dunbar's got the ball with Will Wright and he gets the ball and gets the first down and gets to about the 5 yard line and then the big yellow flag for holding comes out and then Dunbar was forced to kick a field goal and missed it. Bottom line it was a great game and Mike Sweat lead Dunbar with four touchdowns, tackled the punter on a bad snap, blocked a punt and, blocked an extra point. He played like a champion and lead his team to victory in one of the wlidest high school football games I have ever seen.

Dunbar will host Scott County next Friday night and the winner will move on to the regional championship game. Dunbar beat Scott County 40-35 a couple of weeks ago at Dunbar but the game was very close and could have gone either way. Scott County had a great win over Madison Central last night in a very close game in Richmond while Dunbar was pulling off some Doug Flutie miracles to keep their playoff hopes alive by beating Clark County. Who wins this rematch?

Tough loss for Harrison County. Harrison County was missing their best player their quarterback since he is out for the season. It was a tough loss for them.

Mary Jo Perino for Channel 18 had a great view of Mike Sweats feet much better than any coaches tape for Clark or Dunbar and Mike Sweat had his right foot in bounds you could see it on t.v in slow motion.

He clearly can't add to six.

I agree 100% that it's not the players fault, but unforutanetly Dale's decision may make the whole team suffer.

This goes far beyond the game on Saturday. No one has really talked about the consequences after this game. Highlands could be struck with some major penaltys. Such as they are out of post season play for the next couple of years. Mitchell having to sit out in Saturday's game is the icing on the cake to this problem.

So, is this just the start of things to come. Is that what you are saying?
