Is the Montgomery job open?
Today's Mt. Sterling Advocate has a story concerning the ADs retirement. The story states that the new coach will be hired probably before the AD is hired.

Is the Montgomery job open?
Simply unbelievable. The news this week that Jason Holland, the head basketball coach at Montgomery County was stepping down, is the latest shocker in a program that would seem to be above that level. Holland announced his resignation Monday which means the Tribe will have their fifth coach in as many seasons for the 2014-15 campaign. Keith Greisser, Tony Wise, Happy Osborne, Jason Holland and a coach to be named later. Montgomery County Assistant Superintendent and former Athletic Director Phil Rison said Monday the job was posted immediately and the process would be under way quickly to find a successor. “I have a daughter in junior high school and a young son and I’m going to have a chance to watch them play and be more involved in them growing up,” Holland said, stating that he plans to remain in the system. “I’m at the time in my life where I can watch her play and maybe get a chance to coach him at a young age and still come back and continue my career.” Holland said he had known for about a week that this would be happening but delayed the announcement until after the banquet was held this past Sunday. He said he felt like a banquet was “the end of the journey” for a team and that this team deserved to have all of the focus on them and the season they experienced rather than speculation about him. The Indians, in Holland’s only season, compiled a 29-3 record, the best season in terms of winning percentage in a half century. Mt. Sterling Advocate...

Is the Montgomery job open?
Jason Holland, who led Montgomery County’s boys to a 29-3 record and runner-up finish in the 10th Region, has resigned as the Indians basketball coach after one season. Holland said it “wasn’t the right fit” at Montgomery County, and even though “basketball is my passion, I want to be fair to this program. They need somebody who’s going to be here and be stable with them. “I see it as moving forward with my career. I’m going to explore my options, and what’s best for my family.” Holland and his wife Pheena have two children — daughter Zoey is a seventh-grader and plays basketball, and son Taytum is a second-grader. Before taking the Montgomery County job last year, Holland had been at Oldham County for four years, posting a 92-38 record, including 8th Region titles in 2011 and 2012. http://fieldsnotes.bloginky.com/

2014-2015 10th Region
There will be a dropoff at MoCO, but I do not think it will be as much as everyone thinks. They will be returning Caswell Fuller, Art Walker, Sam Hodgson, Chase Hall, and big Shelby Combs who all have varsity experience. Plus they will know Coach Holland's system now. Plus possibly add a player or two from the incoming freshman class that only lost 1 game as 8th graders.
