That makes it hard to get out of district, but tougher on those other teams in region because in order to win it you almost certainly will have to beat both teams out of that loaded district.

I will trust better judgement on HC roster and chances in the 9th. Ryle is loaded and Conner should be tough as well

Maybe I am wrong...I am more unfamiliar with their team. I know they had a nice guard (who I think was a senior) and a very young and very large post player last year. Some decent kids around them....but I would be surprised if they were among to the top 2 or 3 in the 9th.

She must have had a pretty bad experience at SK to leave a loaded team almost locked into a state tournament appearance. On top of that she left to go pay tuition at a private school with little chance of getting to NKU.

I actually hadn't heard that was official. Changes them some obviously...but really it just decreases their margin for error. SK still heads and shoulders above the rest of the 8th.

In all seriousness SK might have the three best players in the region with quality depth/youth around them. Even if one of the three was hurt and one got in serious foul trouble I still think they beat anybody in the 8th. SK is good and the 8th is really really down.

If SK is remotely healthy then no, nobody in the 8th can play with them.

Owen should be lucky she wanted it. Not a lot in the pipe line right now it would seem....especially when your best young kids are continually getting picked off

Well....it could shake up the region I suppose. But not sure even losing 1 of "the big 3" would keep SK from being an overwhelming favorite in the 8th again.

I am going to try and respond without insulting your intelligence...that seems to be difficult for you, but believe it or not this is not personal for me at all... This is your exact quote above. You stated "Berger and Harbison should both be frontrunners in any miss basketball conversation for 2018." So by ANY miss basketball conversation I assume you mean conversations that include all the players in the state, not just Niece/Berger/Harbison. I simply was pointing out that if you hadn't seen Robins play you didn't have a valid opinion on miss basketball. I am not sure what you don't understand about my opinion on this....you gave an opinion on who the front runners for miss basketball should be and then stated in a later post "you hadn't seen Seygan Robins play." How could anyone with an educated opinion on who the best basketball player in the state is NOT have seen Seygan Robins play? I assume your opinion would come from observation of players in competitive games against players of similar caliber. I really don't think there is any way someone could have an educated opinion on the top players around the state and not seen Seygan Robins. But what do I know? I can't comprehend what I read...and must be a teacher because public schools are failing and full of people like me. Seems like a logical place to take your argument considering all the points you've made already in this thread.

Sorry if you felt I misquoted you, but it seems like you feel your opinion is "very valid." I am just letting you know that in fact, your opinion is not valid.

I did not miss quote you or take anything you said out of context. I quoted an entire post above. My point is that you cannot possibly have a valid opinion on these players if you have never seen Robins play (considering the amount of high profile games/events she has been in). My guess is that since you have not seen her play, you probably haven't seen the other girls play more then a time or two...and the times you've seen Harbison/Berger it's been when Sacred Heart/Male is beating the daylight out of your daughters team....not at high level events against top level teams/players.

The front runner is clearly Seygan Robins. I am fairly confident Vegas doesn't put "Ky Miss Basketball" on the books, but I will gladly take anybody's money who wants to bet me even money "Seygan vs ______" at this point. That would be fun thread topic...odds to win Miss Basketball 2018. note* I am not claiming seygan is the BEST player in the state...only that she's the front runner to win Ms. Basketball. If you want to debate who is the BEST player in the state, that would also make for an excellent BGP thread.

It should be noted that I think Berger and Harbison are both excellent players and should be considered among a select group of kids with a chance to win miss basketball next year. I would not, however, call either one of them the front runner at this point.

Considering the debacle that is the KY-IN all star series each year on the KY end....sounds about par for the course.

First off, I have seen all of these kids play several times. I, unlike you, make a point to watch all of the best players in the state...which include those both inside and outside of Louisville. You can look it up if you want, but I said that the 2017 Miss Basketball would come down to Duvall vs Penn...both 6th region kids. So no, I am not "biased" towards kids inside of Louisville. It sounds to me like your view is biased because it appears you don't get outside of Louisville to watch a basketball game....although you wouldn't have had to get outside of Louisville to watch Seygan Robins since Mercer has participated in the LIT, Raatz Fence, and actually traveled to Butler for regular season game this year. Your point about Harbison is fine...she is a talented player. Recently committed to St. Louis and probably would have had more and bigger offers had she waited to commit. No, I don't think someone who hasn't seen her play has much of an opinion on Ms. Basketball either...although it would have been much easier to miss her since her team hasn't been to the state tournament in 2 years (the most visible of all high school bball tournaments in Kentucky). All I said was "if you haven't seen Seygan Robins, then you probably don't have a valid opinion on Miss Basketball." I stand by that statement. If you haven't seen her play, then there is no way you are informed enough about basketball around the state to make a claim that someone should win miss basketball. You wouldn't have even had to leave the city of Louisville to watch Seygan play 4 or 5 times this past season.
