  1. of course - everyone is recruiting him as a quarterback. What coach is going to tell a kid who clearly wants to be thought of as a quarterback, that "we want you as a defensive end". The school that does gets scratched off the list early. Get em in school, then tell them where they are going to play. Not much a kid can do but do what they say ....or transfer. tell me how well that works for a kid.
  2. can someone clarify? - I was under the impression that NAIA schools do not offer sports scholarships, that any financial assistance was need based. any info?
  3. Big play from the safety - momentum changer. Timed it perfectly, cut in front of the receiver and got up in the air to make the pick. In big games you have to make plays. Ryle made several.
  4. Nope - it is called zone coverage. Corner hits releases to the safety intermediate and long. Using your description both sides of the field have "double" coverage with two safeties in the lineup. My point was only to say that Ryle played the same defense in the secondary as they have for the whole season. And it was all on tape. Nothing different, nothing special.
  5. No - he kicked straight in the air, pop up. Never hit the ground. Receiving team has right to call fair catch. That is why most on side kicks are beat into the ground. Nice Idea - did not catch the raiders sleeping.
  6. Ryle did not "double"cover anyone- played their same defensive zone coverages. sK threw to the sidelines. Big defensive plays by Ryle in the secondary. Bend, don't break, then made the picks. Ryle dominated second half - probably had the ball 75% of second half.
  7. CC threw too many balls up for grabs- thus 4 picks. Absolutely no running game.
  8. Uk#1fan- don't worry about Ryle after the impressive SK opener. On the other hand - please keep shooting off your mouth - great bulletin board motivation.
  9. Hey nku fan 88 - please don't post any suggestions for stocks to buy, you crystal ball is broken. "lose by 4 td's ......" guess not.
  10. That will work - you will be easy to spot. Highlands fans have too much class to stoop to your level.
  11. So sad.......I figured UK#1 fan would come out from behind the BGPrep curtain and show himself Thursday night wearing a big uk#1fan tshirt. All talk - trash talk and hide at home. Enjoy your cheese curls and crow.
  12. Actually, Ryle players made some big plays - Elliott td run breaking at least 6 tackles and outrunning the fastest player in northern ky, Hempel completing a 4 th and 11, and smith beating two blockers to make a tackle in the backfield in overtime. This wasn't about the coaches, it was about players making plays.
  13. Sorry - apparently the officials did not see these "cheap shots" you speak of.............but I am sure you are right and they must have happened. You are worried about a tired frustrated kid not taking a knee, but you advocate retaliating to a supposed "cheap shot". Now that's sportsmanship!
  14. You talk about sportsmanship and you say "you are pretty sure the SK personal fouls were retaliation?? Pretty sure? Is retaliation considered a cheap shot? Were there officials at these games you talk about? I guess they just picked on SK. You embarrass the hard working kids on the SK team.
  15. Uk#1 fan is back - how about you talk about the game and not what comes from your imagination. Cheap shots?? Really? Were you on the field either week? Listen to the SK trash talk? Any SK personal fouls last week or this week? You are what is wrong with this forum - should be a place to comment constructively and debate the elements of competition. This is the perfect place for you - safe and anonymous. You would not have the guts to say half of what you contribute in person. Congrats Boone for the effort. And SK dug deep after the loss last week and clearly a lackluster first half.
  16. Hempel never played a down on defense last night - don't see it happening all year. Elliot saw limited defensive downs.
  17. The Ryle freshman running back (Elliot) does not play freshman, just varsity.
