  1. Considering there is no feasable way to round up and deport 12 million people who are already living and in most cases working here I don't see a problem with it.
  2. Go to Quaker Steak and Lube for the best wings ever. Dusted Chipoltle bbq. Simply amazing. The only problem is I don't think any are in KY. One in Milford and one in the Colerain area.
  3. :thumb: One of the better ones I've heard in years IMO
  4. I wasn't aware the president was on the House Financial Services Committee...
  5. Thats how I interpreted it, if I'm incorrect with that interpretation please accept my apologies.
  6. Again :deadhorse: because you refuse to acknowledge them doesn't make them invalid. I'm not sure what it says about how you form your opinions that you would dismiss an Ivy league education as an accomplishment. I listed my reasons multiple times you think they are silly about as silly as I find your reasons. :isurrender:
  7. Oh I wasn't aware you had missed my first two post in this thread..... The man has great academic achievments, your refusal to acknowledge them doesn't lessen them in anyones eyes. The last time I checked Notre Dame was an academic institution and quite a good one at that. So, a man with great academic achievements who is also the POTUS speaking at a quality academic institution makes sense to me sorry it doesn't for you.:idunno:
  8. Does this really require clarification??? He spoke against passing judgement on the Salvation of others.
  9. So now we move to questioning other's salvation based on how they vote; something specifically Christ said not to do.
  10. I got an email from someone on Thursday telling me that I need to go read Karl Marx and that Obama is a Socialist just like him and then it referenced something about democracy as an economic system. Not saying this about you BBall but alot of people who get all stirred up about this stuff have no concept of the differences between the repective "ism's"
  11. Again since you did not respond previously, why do you not hold Republican politicians accountable who claim to "treasure the sancitity of life" but make zero efforts to change it? They are the folks that take your fund raising dollars and make no attempts to change anything. The republicans have so much support on this issue(which again they make no attempts to change) from the religious community despite the fact that they typically ignore all the other social issues, like poverty that Christ spoke of. So I ask why do they not try to change anything? Is it because they aren't really as pro-life as they claim and are just paying lip service to get contributions or votes?? I would encourage you to read this article written back during the election. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/frank-schaeffer/why-im-prolife-and-pro_b_85636.html
  12. Please don't I have no need or want for your brand of education. The case was a challenge to a law in the state of Texas and if by federalize you mean that the supreme court ruled that laws of this nature are Unconstitutional then I guess we will agree that it is federalized.
  13. Roe v Wade was a state law that was challenged and ruled to be unconsititutional by the supreme court in 1973 over 36 years ago. Its decided law and the President has little if any impact on the issue. Why do you think that nothing has been done about it despite having many years when the GOP controlled the presidency and Congress?? It is an emotional issue that people are very passionate about that drives out the vote and raises money. I would suggest instead of bashing the heck out of democrates for the issue to start holding accountable the GOP members in office for not doing more about it when they are in power. Just my thoughts
  14. Yes I would be, because I don't agree with all of someones policy positions doesn't mean they don't deserve respect or have achievements.
  15. I would hope so, I wouldn't howl or protest. Senator Jim Bunning spoke at my highschool commencement and while I disagree with him for the most part politically I listened very attentively and gave the respect someone in that position should be offered.
  16. So Obama has aborted a pregnancy he has been apart of?? Does he actively encourage or perform the procedure or does he like the majority of Americans support a woman's/family's right to Choose in the matter?
  17. Yes I'm quite serious it's my opinion and obviously we disagree. I guess anyone who doesn't agree lock step with you is trying to stir the pot. I would like to clarify that my description of him was accuarate and also only included his personal life and academic achievements and nothing about his political philosophy. Columbia Harvard Law President of Harvard Law Review Constitutional Law professor at University of Chicago Law School Illinois state senator US senator from Illinois President of the United States I would have really enjoyed hearing someone with these qualifications speak at my commencement no matter what side of the political aisle they reside. Are you Jerry Falwell, James Doubson or Pat Roberts?
  18. No I do not honestly think that a racial bigot should be invited to speak at a traditionally African American college, but your hypothetical is a little extreme IMO. This country in this day and age would never elect someone like that so while I concede on the example I feel that it is apples to oranges. Obama and the Catholic church agree on about 98% of the other social issues like ridding the world of poverty, etc. So because Obama is Pro-Choice not Pro-Abortion as so many on here like to put it they should ignore all the academic achievements and prestige of the office he holds and not invite him. I don't get it and obviously they don't either since he was invited. By the way over 50% of the Catholics that voted in the election voted for Obama.
  19. I think it is a wonderful thing. He is a self made man, who is highly intelligent with a great academic background and good family man Oh and he is the President of the United States. So what if you don't agree with him on everything politically or religiously, I thought Notre Dame was an academic institution why wouldn't any academic institution want the POTUS to speak at thier commencement?
  20. Not to mention Hooters and the Beer Sellar are about a football field away.
  21. I would recomend the Holiday Inn Express or the Comfort Suites in Bellevue KY. Both are a block or two from the Levee you can easily walk or catch a shuttle to PBS, plus the Party source is right across the street from both which is a must visit IMO.
  22. Unitl he got his pitch back last night he was just an ordinary guy with exceptional hair.
  23. Forget it and just help bring back the bow tie
  24. Remember the Titans--The Gettysburg speech Tombstone--"tell'em I'm coming......" Rocky IV--The fight with Drago Old School--The toast There are many more
