One thing I noticed all night, MacShara is VERY quick. I'm glad he didnt really get the chance to break a big run on us but that kid has some speed, found himself wide open on more then a couple pass plays. All in all, very good showing by both teams tonight, and this one IMHO was every bit and more it was hyped up to be.

I'm picking Bell big. after tonights game with Boyle, I'll be the first to say to those who questioned wether or not Bell's D is for real, go ahead and remove the foot from your mouth guys. I'm just kiddin, but I'll take my Bobcats by a big margin in this one, Bullitt will be lucky to score.

Yep, he had one:thumb: Admirals, I saw more then a couple missed calls. I cant complain though. I thought the officials did a great job of letting the kids go out there and leave it on the field. IMO I thought the onside kick call was a little iffy, but again, officials were great, I dont think theres any real complaints.

I'll repeat my original statement-- This Bell Co. passing game is more then capable, and will surprise some people. I dont think anyone wants to force us to pass after this one. But, it was a very hard faught game, I'd like to applaud Boyle for staying it it despite the turnovers. They showed a tremendous ammount of heart tonight. It's a shame this one wasn't in Louisville..congradulations on the year for the Rebels...and onto Louisville dor the Bobcats!!!:D

This one is just a matter of hours away. I could'nt be more exicted honestly. I just so happened to have picked up a local paper today on my way home and their was a pretty good article on the Bobcats, more specifically the 13 seniors. I was a little back and forth on this game until I really thought about it. All of the points have been made, stats compared, schedules compared, every comparison has been made and IMO the reasonable people haha, have all said the same, these two teams are mirror images of each other. Boyle's speed cancels the Bell size out. It's going to come down to who wants it more on Friday night; I'm no Boyle fan so I dont know how bad they want it. IMHO though, I think Bell wants it the most, not saying Boyle doesnt, but we'll see Friday night. The bobcat seniors have always been winners, they've stuck together basically their whole lives, and they want this badly for the entire team, community and coaching staff. Coach Hilton and his staff has let some big games slip through their fingers in the past, but I think he honestly beleive he wants it more for this team and these seniors to get to Louisville then he has any other team. All this aside, one thing is for sure, this will IMO be the best game of the playoffs, if not the year win or lose. goodluck to both teams..Can't wait until 7:30:D :dancingpa Sorry this post was so lengthy for anyone who doesn't like to read a whole lot:thumb:

Howard is very close to 6'4 and well over 300 I beleive. Very strong kid, but size doesnt always tell the story. I think this one will be another nail bitter. But keep in mind, the Bell Co. defense is very capable of creating turnovers, and are very solid tacklers. The MacShara kid from Boyle sounds like a great playmaker, but just to point another thing out, this Bell D has faced 5 backs, maybe more by now the last stat report I saw was Nov 9, who had rushed for over 1,000 yards on the season. Of those rushers, only 1 or 2 was able to make it to the endzone. Prior to the Knox Central game the Bell D had only given up 1 rushing touchdown on the year and that was to a Whitley County back up late. This Bell D is nothing to be taken lightly, I beleive they may be able to cancel MacShara out. But you never know, Shawn Robbins was'nt supposed to make it past the 50 yard line against highlands in '04. The more I think of this one, the more eager I get:D

Howard is a junior right now. He was getting starts in his freshman year, which usually doesnt happen at Bell Co. Bell may be caught off guard at first by the Aumiller kids motor I've been hearing about, but I beleive they'll adjust. And to the post about the Back from Bell, your probably referring to Greer. Dont be fooled though, he's topped 1,000 on the season and has a ton of TD's, but theres 2 other backs over 500 on the season, and a very capable passing attack that will surprise a few people to take pressure off the backs, I can't wait for this one:dancingpa

Aumiller, I'm assuming is on the D-Line for Boyle? If so, IMO Mike Howard is probably the best lineman on the Bell Co. team, besides maybe Senior Jacob King, either match up would be intriguing to me. But I beleive a post I read earlier saying Merrick will win it may be pretty accurate, he's the most dangerous weapon this Bell Co. team has, and a very good one at that.

5wide, I'd like to say thank you, and I'm glad you caught the main point I was making, and im glad to see you didnt look at it as putting a player down. I agree with you completely on all you said.Academics are certainly more important than athletics. In regard to an earlier post, it was brought up a player I had mentioned was a holdback also, but to make my case he's only been held back one year and it was academic related. I'm not saying that the kid I mentioned isnt a great player, because he truly is, just saying the comparisons to someone thats top 10 in the Kentucky record books should not be made at this point. Back onto the topic though, the best RB in the mountains next year. My vote goes to Fugate, but I think Carton of Bell County is gonna be a tough player to stop next year as well.

I feel this will be a low scoring game. Both teams have great defense. I'm not to sure on the Boyle players stats, but the Bell County Defense has some solid tacklers. A soph. is over 100 on the year, and a couple other players up over 50. Plus the Bell D has some major playmakers at DB with Raines and the elder Davenport at corners and Zachery rotating in and out with Madon at safety. Raines has now 5 picks on the year, he's a serious playmaker on both sides of the ball thats very dangerous. I can help but feel special teams is going to win it for the Bobcats though.

I think an OL of Bell County, JR Mike Howard has a chance to play D1. and also SR kicker Monte Merrick already has a couple offers.

I call Whitley in an upset. I saw them play at the begginning of the year, assuming they've improved since then I beleive they can pull it off if there is no major turnover and penalties are limited.

May not even make it to 21, both defenses look to be pretty stingy. Plus a possible sloppy feild, as it is still raining/snowing, and supposed to do so through the week, could be a low scoring game.

Agreed. 1991 has nothing to do with this game, nor do the polls. Bell County will have to play mistake free football in my mind to pull this out. I think they are capable of doing it. Also, they'll have to limit the penalties. This is the top two teams in 4A, and they're both going to be out to prove why they should each be #1. Friday cant get here soon enough!:dancingpa

The field at first wasn't covered, the snow was supposed to have came in the AM hours, but it hit during the day so, there's the reason behind most of that. And feild conditions shouldn't be an issue regardless the better team will win.

Yes, that'd be him. He's just as dangerous punting, theres several videos of him on youtube. And in my opinion Bell has one of the best visitors sides around, seeing as how its identical to the home side just without the press box.

It's going to be a great playoff atmosphere up on Log Mtn. come Friday. I cant wait for this one either. i expect a fight from start to finish, the Bell Co. team is very driven, probably the best Bell team ever and I'm sure they dont want to end this run yet, and Boyle im sure is ready to return to the top of the class...its gonna be a good one :fight:

But their will probably be a firetruck there haha, i go to church with a woman whose got a part in bringing it. please lets not get on the topic of field conditions, it rains all the time in Bell County, is actually raining now and supposed to throughout the week turning into snow Thursday-Sunday, atleast the last time i checked the news thats what they said. The best team will win this game, and its gonna be a good one, no need to worry about being "cheated" haha:lol:

I've seen Cory run and I've seen Shawn run, he's got impressive speed for a freshman but several people that actually know him say hes not a true freshman at all and has been held back once or twice, he's no Shawn Robbins. Dont get me wrong, he's got a bright future but to compare him to Robbins right now is a little far fetched to me. Not to mention theres an absolute stud comming in next year for Bell, Jonathan Polly, who cory could actually end up splitting his share of carries with, the kid is a great athlete. But as far as Bell Co. goes, I'm looking for Carton to be the feature back. The best back in the mountains though, i dont think there should even be an argument, Channing Fugate.

Yes, Merrick played. If you attended the game I'm not sure how you didnt notice him. KC had maybe 1 or 2 returns on kickoffs, neither really going for much that i can remember. and he pinned them deep a couple times on punts, had 2 long field goals that proved to be the difference in the game, as both teams scored 2 TD's.

Not only is the fact that Bell County can put points up at will if they choose from inside about the 35-40 yard line, Merrick also makes it very difficult for opposing teams to stay fresh, consistently starting their drives on the 20 after kickoffs, and usually pinned back even further after punts. He could be the difference maker in this game.
