  1. I will say one referee was walking towards coach mid court. And the other was on the opposite side of court no were near were the ball was thrown.
  2. I agree with all of this very much so. Was it handled yes was it handle right everyone's opinion.
  3. I put this thread up to see if this is acceptable. Well i guess in some minds it is and every body see's things differently. If what i witnessed is ok behavior out of are coaches then i dont want that as roll model for my child. Great conversation anyway.:thumb:
  4. My opinion is i expect a coach to question what he or she thanks is a wrong call against there team. But what happened here can never be acceptable behavior.
  5. What it all come's down to it should have never been thrown.
  6. I'm not going to set here and argue with you. But you didn't see what I saw, I guess. You didn't see the young lady standing in front of the vistors bench. I do think he should have been tossed.
  7. This is girls middle school basketball in Eastern Ky (ovc). Id rather not say were this was i dont want to condemn the whole team or school. But i did forget to say this the, coach is the the varsity coach to.
  8. I dont see him being removed. And there was three of us up heading to the bench but we thought better of it. The mother did give him a mouth full.
  9. I go to alot of different sporting events and have seen alot of stupid things over the the years. I have seen alot of players do unsportsmanlike things and the majority of time the referee or coach handles the problem. But when its the coach that does it in the manner that I witnessed last night something needs to be done. Me and my family were at a 7th grade middle school basketball game and the coach from the home team did not agree with a call on the court. At the same time he was arguing with the referee he picked up the basketball and held it for a few seconds. The teams were at the opposite end of the floor to his bench. He then looking right at one of the opposite team players standing in front of her bench he threw let me say that again threw not tossed the basketball at this player. It passed a few inches from her head and then still had enough velocity to hit the opposite wall and bounce back. Ok you can pick your chins of the floor. This type of stuff can not happen your going to have the referees and coaches arguing the coaches arguing but leave the young ladies out of it. He received a technical but he should have been removed. Like I said a sad state of affairs. I have my own thoughts on what I witnessed last night but I'll keep my mouth shut.
  10. You have got this right. But i see this as the coachs thinking more about themselves than the girls they are coaching. Just my two cents.
  11. That number is crazy how are you suppose to build programs with that going on.
  12. How about a long line of wwwwwww's starting tonight good luck Lions. 24-7 Boyd.:ylsuper:
  13. I saw some practice yesterday and I would say 60-65 players 9-12. Sorry for that stupid number of 24. I hope they have good season.
  14. All of what you all have said in some way is right on the money. Now if we just had more hours and days in the year. I do think you have to play games and work on your own to get better. It takes some of both.
  15. With so many sports playing year round like basketball, softball, soccer. Is it enough to just play school ball and during the summer work on your own, go to some good camps and so on. Ive herd these comments lately. All that I ever heard and my own answer to this, was school ball was not enough if you wanted to go to the next level. I still believe that way. What do you all think.
  16. Ask that in a month or so alot of ?? there . Always play hard just need some shooters.
  17. I think your right on the money here. It does take sacrifice like time ,money but me and my wife enjoy every minute of it. My DD took the summer off more or less this year she hit the weight room 5 days a week and still went to acouple camps. i think it was good for her she had been on the road for 4 summers with softball. She will be a eight grader this year and she seems more focused after doing other things this summer. It would not suprise me if she went to AAU, BB next summer.
  18. That is the kicker to it all does your DD want to play at the next level. I agree if she does focusing on one sport is your best bet. Inless they are a prodigy.
  19. Im not going to disagree with that. But i think it depends on the other sport and postion they play. The reason i say that is my DDs other sport is fastpitch and she is a pitcher and it takes year round work.
  20. Ill find out if that is a total number. I was told 24 came out they didnt have much more than that last year. Hard to understand why.
  21. I agree with alot of this. But this brings up another ?. If your good at two sports should there be a point when you focus on one or the other or play both. And when should you decide this. I always thought by the begining of your freshmen year.
  22. I herd they only had 24 come out. Wheres the days of 80 to 100 back in the early 80's
  23. When you get up in middle school and beyond it should be the ones that put the work in during the season and off. That play the game there is politics in every sport that shouldn't be there. But if the girl loves the game they will put the work in. I think that might be most of the problem alot of kids dont want to work.
  24. I will agree with that youth programs are it. I can tell a big difference in softball due to travel ball teams. There just isn't very many aau teams around here. But that might be changeing I hope.
  25. Why is it so hard to get Young Ladys out to play sports. I no its not like this everywhere but some school systems it is. I no what some of problems are atleast in my own mind. Just wondering what you all think.
