Henderson County is the largest school in the second region. They are in a district with Webster County, which broke their streak this year, and Union County. In football classes Union and Webster are 3A and 2A, I think. The only 3 team district in our region. I am sure it will change just as soon as the new school in Paducah opens. That will close two schools which will cause a couple from the second region to go west and then the 3 team district should be taken care of.

There is always a game that we don't see coming. Here it is, Marshall County wins as Scott County struggles and has one of "those" games.

I have seen them play several games this year. They win different ways. I really don't know much about Southwestern. Our region has been dominated by one county since 2001. (Hopkinsville, Christian County, and UHA) It is a tough district. I really like this team, they can play zone or man. They are long and they play several guys. When I read about Southwestern it sounds like they are very similar. We both know that any team can get to Rupp and get on the floor and just not be themselves. I hope its a good game. I know they were supposed to play Rowan County earlier in the year, but it was cancelled. I think that was one of those games scheduled in Rupp Arena, I think. They are not a senior loaded team, will most likely win our region again next year.

When I had the opportunity to see them,..... I still don't know how they pulled off winning the third region. Apollo was sitting back in a 2-3 zone and were not a team you would say had a shot at winning the region. I got to see Muhlenberg Co. and they were bigger and faster. I'm afraid they have accomplished all thats possible for them to accomplish. But that is why we play the game. I didn't get to see the regional tournament. I went to the second region games.

This will be a blowout. GRC by 20.

I think Trinity wins by double digits. Close for the first 3 quarters but it will finally open up late.

I think Hopkinsville will win. Should be a fun game to watch.

Apollo lead 30-22 at haftime. Then it appeared they were going to just run away with it, as they built their lead to 46-33 at the end of 3. But Muhlenberg cut it to 46-38 in the first minute of the fourth quarter. With just 50 seconds left Apollo lead 58 to 52. With just 20 seconds left Apollo had the ball and was leading 62 to 59. I would have never given Apollo a chance to win the first game of the regional; much less win it all. I predict that whoever they do play at Rupp will beat them by 20+. But congrats to them for winning the 3rd Region.

I believe it was 15 to 9 at the half. Both teams struggled from the field.

The Vikings. If they would have won, it would have been their first trip to the finals.

Apollo will play Muhlenberg County Monday night in the finals of the 3rd region.

Henderson County will not be an easy win, and Christian County will give Madisonville a run also. But I believe Hopkinsville is the best of the 4 left.

Some would say so; but they are still the state champs until they are beaten. They played really well, especially in the first quarter. They got a 10 point lead early and never let Webster get closer than 5. They hit their FT's and came up with stops when they needed them. Some say Christian should have never beaten UHA in the first game of district, but they are getting better and better. Their big weakness they have shown is when they get behind, they freak out. They also rely heavily on the 3. And they hit 4 or 5 in the first quarter against Webster and didnt miss one until halfway thru the second quarter. They meet Madisonville in the semis, which will be tough. The Maroons are playing at home and should have the advantage.

Final in 2nd region. Christian built a 10 point lead in the first quarter. They only missed one shot in the period. Webster cut the lead down to 6 with 5 minutes left in the final quarter, but Christian went 14 for 19 from the free throw line to wrap up the victory.
