  1. Congrats to Mr. Miller. Unreal what a State Championship run will do for a player's college stock. You can't beat winners.
  2. New Orleans lost to San Antonio, so that helps the Thunder's chances. Given that the Thunder won, I'm going to assume they are in (but haven't checked the standings yet).
  3. The Nets won, so if Indiana loses, they are in.
  4. So what's up with the playoffs? San Antonio won. Indiana is at Memphis and the Griz are up around 10 at the half.
  5. In addition to the guys in the 11th I named above, I really like Dontell Brown of Dunbar's game. Not really saying he's going to top out at a huge level or anything, but I do think that there's a place for him at the next level at the right school. 11th: Ross Jenkins - Lafayette (#1 overall at the moment) Zan Payne - Lexington Catholic (long term potential) Tre King - Lex. Christian (needs to develop, but could blow up) Peter Whitman - Lexington Catholic (height) DeAndre Dishman - Bryan Station (athleticism) Dontell Brown - Dunbar (toughness) That's what I'd say about each right now if I had to rate them and say what separates each from the pack right now.
  6. Nothing but love here. I really didn't know his #'s were that gaudy with the Travelers, but I'll definitely take your word for it.
  7. Congrats to Mr. Rose. Kid is more athletic than people give him credit for and will do well if he keeps working. Between he and Trimble, I think Coach Valentine did a really good job preparing them for the next level. LCA is definitely raising their game.
  8. The NBA?s Possible Solution for Tanking: Good-bye to the Lottery, Hello to the Wheel « Here's the solution I mentioned above, courtesy of Grantland.
  9. I'd be in favor of it. In the NBA, it seems like there are a handful of teams intentionally trying to lose and it really hurts the product. In the NFL, there aren't as many of those teams, and all the games are usually at one time (with those teams typically being absent from the unique timeslots), so it doesn't hurt the product as much [or if for no other reason, there's a more exclusive amount of NFL games]. Something kicked around awhile back was a draft wheel. Each team gets in one of say 5-6 tiers of picks each year. Roughly every 5-6 years, you'll have one of the top 5, top 10, top 15, top 20, top 25, and top 30 picks, regardless of what your record is. That definitely sounds more interesting for records (from a competitive balance standpoint) in any given year. If your pick is set, you don't have incentive to lose. There are problems with that setup (i.e., loaded teams like the Warriors being in the top 5-6 picks in a given year), but it's at least fair in that it effects everyone equally.
  10. 11th place Tates Creek is a little tougher than 11th place Henry County or Eminence though. Superior teams playing night in and night out. It's not a horrible question to ask if nothing else.
  11. Even if it meant adding a spot, I do it for Bolden. No one argument on a guy you just have to take off for him, especially with so many different ways you can look at it. Regardless, there aren't tons of Kentucky kids going D1, and Bolden is for a reason. Has to be a spot for him on there somewhere.
  12. Legit question: what do you think he averages in the 7th or 11th? I ask because I'm curious. I'll be the first to admit, I haven't seen tons of him.
  13. Didn't one of the guys just have knee surgery? If he'd have tried something and then gotten re-injured, everyone would be talking about how stupid he was as well. Kind of a no-win situation for him.
  14. Hornswaggle being Vince's son after they had set up Mr. Kennedy for it. Sting and the British Bulldog's speedboat being blown up by Sid and Vader. The Masters of the Powerbomb crash Sting & The British Bulldog's beach party: Beach Blast, July 18, 1993 | WWE.com
  15. I know what you are saying. Not saying there's no blame on him, but if Scurry doesn't start a fight, he probably doesn't go do that either. Still no reason for Graffee to do what he did though.
  16. I'm surprised there isn't more Scurry hate here. Read some of my earlier comments about the guy-- looks like they were pretty spot on. He's someone I really don't have much sympathy for in this whole thing. Seems more like a meathead that brags about throwing bottles at a future NBA player's car, then starts a fight with some guys from the bigger college up the road's football team. Kind of a pattern of behavior there. He was aggressively talking to a girl, starts a fight, then he and the girl dime out the bar for letting him in underage and all that as well. Probably not a very popular guy with the people who own it or most of the kids in Richmond. Not that it isn't the Bar's fault for letting underage people in or not controlling the situation better (doesn't look like there were bouncers rushing in, just a bartender standing on the bar... someone could have noticed and got to things before they got out of hand though).
  17. I have it. It's way up in the hundreds though.
